Ray October 30th, 2000, 05:37 Hi
Anybody have problem register domain with domainzero (both paid and free )? I can't access the following page ,
https://sslpay.commercetrust.com/cgi-sn/b2bnow/auth.cgi
Joker did not worth a try (it costs 25$ each time owner change) and domainzero did not work well (their system always inaccessible both registration and modification process )
Chicken October 30th, 2000, 11:01 Domainzero does go in and out sometimes, heh, but other than them, everyone seem to like 000domains.com
Raptor1 November 2nd, 2000, 02:01 I prefer to use http://www.mydomain.com for my free domainzero domain. it works well for me :D
Semiel November 2nd, 2000, 02:30 Does mydomain.com name servers currently work?
I get "Error: ns1.mydomain.com unreachable" when doing a
name server test...
Justin S November 2nd, 2000, 08:58 Well my brother registered a free domain using DomainZero, and everything worked fine for him. But I have heard of some people who didn't have as much luck. Anyway, I'd say go with any OpenSRS reseller such as http://www.domainmonger.com or http://www.000domains.com .
Justin S November 2nd, 2000, 08:59 And by the way, if you want a "cheap" domain then check out http://www.getadomain.com because they only charge $9/year.
Justin S November 2nd, 2000, 09:13 Concerning DomainZero, you might want to look at this thread: http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=168
Ray November 2nd, 2000, 09:40 what is whois server of domain registered with getadomain.com ?
Justin S November 2nd, 2000, 10:14 I don't quite follow you. Are you asking what the WHOIS server of GetADomain is?
Ray November 2nd, 2000, 10:24 Yes
[Edited by Ray on 11-02-2000 at 11:26 AM]
Justin S November 2nd, 2000, 10:31 I don't believe they have their own WHOIS server. They just use a script on their site which checks NSIs or InterNICs WHOIS...
cds November 3rd, 2000, 10:40 If you want a professional company with actual capital, and are willing to pay just a little more, try checking out http://www.dotster.com. They charge $15/year, which is a little higher (but not that much higher) but they have really quick support and are generally more professional (and friendly) then some of the other ones.
cleggo November 11th, 2000, 16:12 I have been using http://www.totalnic.net/ to register
any new domains. I have had no problems with them
and its better for me to do changes.
I like them for two reasons, #1. the cost is cheap!
$35 for two-years, $15 for each after.
#2. I seem to have mor control over changes made..
I like that a little better :o)
Ray November 11th, 2000, 16:18 another hints for bulkregister and enom
I modified namservers of a domain to
ns.hostA
ns2.hostA
ns.hostB
ns2.hostB
but the query result become
ns.hostA
ns.hostB
ns2.hostA
ns2.hostB

Right now, http://www.gkg.net is $8.99 a year. :)
Tater November 11th, 2000, 22:12 gkg.net (http://www.gkg.oet) is a great registrar. I would highly recomend them.

Ray, I'm not quite following what the point of this was? Could you explain what this meant? Is this a problem you are having? A suggestion?
Ray November 12th, 2000, 14:15 enom and bulkregister 's database will sort your dns order again from what you entered to something different (maybe alphabetically).
Guess you change your dns order to
ns1.domain
ns3.domain
ns4.domain
ns2.domain
their system will sort your dns automatically to.
ns1.domain
ns2.domain
ns3.domain
ns4.domain
this would be a problem if ns1 and ns3 settings are different from ns4 and ns2 .

This is my first attempt to register one with them, but if all goes well I will probably move my others to them. :)
