I would stay far away from them since they claim to offer unlimited space and bandwidth.
Now just so I don't consider this spam, do you have a site hosted with them? It seems the one in your profile is hosted a tF2S.

You have been warned about signing up for a scam...no host in the world today can offer that. You'd be wasting your time and your money.

What they mean by "unlimited" is ALOT OF.
True its never "unlimited" but i agree that if they risk to advertise as "unlimited" then as a legit host they should try to abide by what they say or not be in the hosting service at all.
Cmon, for a host like that with all that stuff would run in the hundreds a month.
I dunno what to tell ya about these "unlimited" hosts but i cant afford no other host that offer all that and i guess im just blinding hoping for a miracle host at this cost.
PS
Have there been other hosts like this that have had all these features and then close down just like that?
Why do hosts come out with these great deals, close down and get away with it?
What is the best and cheapest host like this that is a no bull**** host?
BlackDeath
September 2nd, 2001, 23:11
ok beleive what you want doesnt matter to me you could be
missing on a very good deal here and when people signup
it saves there service to do this
because they use to be FREE and now people that signup have
to pay and they do offer all of this and i dont think its a SCAM
most unlimited space from there could be around 200mb or more
and maybe who knows maybe 2gig bandwidth a month or maybe even more or could be less but i see no scam and this service has been around for a while
but no one says you have to join just dont be putting down
a service that is just giving all this stuff for that price
niv
September 2nd, 2001, 23:35
Unlimited is synonymous with infinite, can someone provide infinite space? Nope.

Hello,
Just reading abit about this post. Blackdeath stated that you get:
Free Domain Name(i.e. yourname.com)
My question is, if he/she has an account with this company why are you using a cjb account when they give you a free domain name.

Q. What is my FTP login?
A. ftp.mas3000.com
Q. How do I log in through FTP
A. Use the username and password you sign up with.
Ive followed them instructions exactly and it didnt work.
What Is the ftp login address that you use that does work?
BlackDeath
September 3rd, 2001, 01:22
did you join them
if you did you got to wait intel you get a e-mail saying your account is ready if its not give the ftp thing a while to be setup
it doesnt do it automatically like other hosts

Nicole
September 3rd, 2001, 03:46
There will never be an unlimited host, unless some dude invented unlimited hard drives while I wasnt looking ;)
The only danger is that yes, its a well known fact that unlimited hosts boot you for using too much "resources" (i.e. bandwidth/space) but what each host calls "too much" could be completely different, Host X could boot you for using 3gb of space, and Host Y could boot you for using 500Mb!
Its a tightrope, it really is!

if you got a domain with mas3000.com, you would just have to ftp to your domain after it resolves. i suggest you put your money somewhere else because I think you're making a big mistake by going with an "unlimited" host.

no you will eventually get a e-mail real soon or your ftp thing will work its not like the webhost said 24/7 tech support everyone works you know ;o)
and its all at e-mailing at the right time last night i e-mailed at the right time and i got fast response in like 30 min or an hour i think
if you joined a month ago you would have gotten it free but they will start a free one again some day but i dont think it would have all the stuff it does now i think the free one will have ads i dont got a problem with that though as long as its not popups
i only like embeded ads that i can move anywhere i want

Like i said before "unlimited" means ALOT of space cus there could never be true unlimited space.
niv
September 4th, 2001, 11:42
Listen, you've made a big mistake by going with them buddy. Unlimited means infinite, and I have people that are backing me up on this. Hosts that say they provide unlimited space are LYING. Is there such a thing as unlimited resources? No. The most hosts can provide across a hundred users with the standard server is 3 GB. Bleh, it's not really my place to tell what to do with your money, but you've made a bad mistake.
Lord Illicious
September 4th, 2001, 11:57
Dam man what can i do? I ANT AFFORD NO F****** $300 OR MORE A MONTH FOR A HOST.
Besides i already told you that i know that unlimited is bullsh** so whats the big deal?
If they cant cope then my site will shutdown and i will move on.
Peace
niv
September 4th, 2001, 12:02
99% of hosts sell space at 42 or lower a month, not 300 dollars a month. Me? I pay 7.95 a month for hosting. What is my problem? I want you to go with a reliable, respectable host that will last.
Lord Illicious
September 4th, 2001, 12:15
OK thats cool.
Can you find me a host under $30 a month that has:
2000 or more MB space (for a nice BBS and a cool site)
Decent bandwidth
FTP
PHP
CGI
3 mySQL
What i wish is for ALOT of space and the features above.
Maybe more features like:
Shoppin cart, Real server, bla bla etc etc
Does a host that can provide all that for under $30 a month exist?
BlackDeath
September 4th, 2001, 12:18
ya and which host might that be?
there is also hostwiththemost.net
but they got alot of restrictions
and reliable???
does the other offer what this one does?
and im not talking about hostwiththemost
mas3000 gives
Scripting: Perl, SSI, Python, PHP, TCL / TK 8.33
SSL and a domain name and for most people thats
what there looking for if you look for anything else like
that it would cost alot more
hostwiththemost isnt bad though like $40/m

Whoa!
Have you ever gone shopping for hosting? At 30 bucks a month, that's way too much to expect. 2000 MB?
If it were 200 MB I'd say tera-byte.com.
Try mchost.com's reseller plan...you can always ask them if you could use it like regular hosting.
BlackDeath:
Please be quiet if you can't find a decent host. As long as mas3000 is offering U*N*L*I*M*I*T*E*D plans, it is a scam.
Nicole
September 4th, 2001, 12:39
Try emailing WebThingy, the owner of Asp2.Net (at tech@asp2.net)
He does custom plans, tho i'd be prepared to shell out a *little* more than $30 a month for what you want, but who knows, have a bash!
->Nicole<-

asp2.net doesnt look bad :D
they actually got good deals to.......
well when i get my own server i would offer 10gigs
i would say thats unlimited for most people seriously :D
Nicole
September 4th, 2001, 12:56

Then again....perhaps I wouldn't want to see it... :D

I dont understand.
FS2 offers FREE bannerless hosting with:
50 Megs of space
FTP
PHP
CGI
mySQL
So a paid host couldnt have all these features with a ton of space(ok lied space really is like 200megs) but a free host i would have to pay them so i can have way more space?
If i could i would pay FS2 for the similar setup i have now but just with at least 2000 megs and 3 100 meg mySQLs.
There has to be a great affordable host.
niv
September 4th, 2001, 13:18
2 GB is way too much to ask for in a regular paid account. Custom plans don't usually go that high without passing the 40$ /month level, 39 will get you 1 GB.
It's F2S, not FS2, and F2S has broadband services in the UK, that's their source of income, and it's 20 MB, not 50 MB.
The reason you don't seem to understand is because you've only been on one side of this...you have to be in the shoes of the host. If a host only has 35 GB to spare on their dedicated server and they need some way to make a profit, why would they give customers 2 GB of space each? It doesn't make sense because the majority isn't looking for that much space unless they're using it for storage. I believe 2 GB of space on a reliable host would cost you around 50$ a month. A great affordable host, what you're looking for, would last for only a month if they gave 2 GB away for less than 30$ a month.

It's 100$ a month but that's because it's meant for reselling, try searching here:

If I were you, I'd check the "avoid Unlimited Space" option.

At http://Host4Students.com they offer 3 gigs of space for only $22/year. It'd be kinda hard to use it all with only 1 gig of transfer though, but still might be good for storage.

People, unlimited space don't exit. I don't know about an infinite hard drive ever invented.

who says he only has one hard drive alot of servers could hold alot of huge drives
you cant forget lots of drives are up to 60gigs to 80gigs
and no one never uses that much space if you use more then 1 gig you must be hosting one massive download site
and most people that have a download sites get there own servers so why go on about this?

You can think it does and that you'll actually get this all you want. *They* can think they offer it, but simply, they can not and do not.
I did find it rather amusing that their main page states:
"Prices starting at $7.50 a month!"
Of course they have one package, for $7.50, everything unlimited.
I wonder if they'll have a second package at $10.00 month - double unlimited?
Sorry I just have to lock this thread as these types of hosts are just a waste of everyone's time and honestly, I think they should be fined for their advertising practices and shut down.
