I want to make my site searchable and I want to be able to fully customize both the query page AND the result page.
I have tried the search engines from Pico and siteLevel, but they return a result page in English. My site is in Dutch completely and I would therefor like to be able to modify the result page too.

So I tried the script from Matt's Script Archive. But as I use 2 mirrors to keep the traffic to my (free) servers low, I ran into another problem. Not all providers accept/support perl scripts.

Then I turned to SearchMaker, which offers all I need, but there are 2 problems: It generates a huge "search.html" and as my site is changing almost daily, keeping the search page up to date is too much hassle for me.

Does anybody have an idea what options I have left?
I like the pico solution but as said I want to be able to customize the result page as well. And it has to be free of charge.

Thanks
Mattie

You have a very complicated problem. Sorry, I cannot help you. It would be a lot eaiser for you if your entire site was in mySQL.

Have you checked out hotscripts.com or cgi.resourceindex.com or php.resourceindex.com? There a lot more scripts that might offer you what you want. Also try emailing matt, he's very responsive. You will receive an email from Matt within a couple of days.
