I'm dumb when it comes to hardware... so here is a couple of questions.
my compaq computer ( ) came with a harddrive partitioned to two drives. one was supposed to be for backup files to stay in (including the files that would've come on a windows cd but they are in that drive instead, but that's not the concern). another was the main drive. if I want to format this computer, what do I do about this partitioning? do I just ignore the partition and format both C: and D: with a boot disk, and reboot and start installing windows again, there'll be only a C: then? (is the partition then forgotten by the computer after I format?)
second question. I've only had 1 compaq computer in my life but I assume all of them have this same thing: they have these big red words that said "COMPAQ" when you turn on your computer or reboot. I have this feeling formatting the harddisk doesn't do anything to this. how do you remove that screen and have it show the memory count and stuff instead? I think I'll like it better that way..
<---- btw, look at my post count... :D
