List of words

Does anyone know where I might find a list of words? I need many thousands, maybe someone knows a link to the top ten thousand most frequently used English words?

Any link to any word list of any length is welcome, but the longer it is the better.

I'm re-writing my search engine script and in this new version I want to include a translator. For it, I need words.

It will be rudimentary, but still serviceable. For the most part it will offer a direct translation, but I will try to build in a little bit of grammar correction. (unfortunately I only know two and a half languages, so the grammar correction will be limited).

If you're nosey enough to want to know what those two and a half languages are, the first is English, the second is German, and the half is Latin. ;)

Do a search and you'll find lists of lists. This was one at the top - note the ESL! ;)
