Does anybody know if it is possible to record mp3 from my computer onto tape cassette through my stereo? Can u suggest a product, any idea of price, simplicity etc?

It's simple... that what I do, since I don't have a CD burner. All you need is a little thing from radio shack with the little headphone jack on one end (that goes in where your computer speakers plug in) and the other end needs to be the input jacks for your stereo. Connect ut to the auxillary input of your stereo, pop in a blank tape, play the song and hit record. Simple.

Yeah, the auxillary connection works good. I already have a sweet sound system (http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL014065&page=2), so I figured there was no need for me to spend more money on some good computer speakers.

I have a mixing board attached to my computer so i can do it by plugging the tape player directly into there.

Bigperms waw is the the cheapest.

Or you can burn your songs to CD and put them into your CD/Tape player and record the CD to tape...

Then again I'm guessing you don't have a burner.

There's a new gadget just out here - an mp3 player in the shape of an audio cassette. You can plug headphones into it or put it into any tape recorder and it plays like a normal tape.

I don't know exactly how it works, but I guess it simulates the magnetic tape moving across the bottom with electromagnets, and the tape drive turning the cassette spools (if that's what they're called) just turns a free wheel with a little resistance.

Of course, it's not cheap - I'll post for a link to it soon cos I know you're all dying to see it...
