Anybody know where I can get games for my graphing calculator? I might just go buy that serial port cable.

if its a TI83+ you have go to www.ticalc.org and find the archives. My sugested games are beerhunt and pimpquest 1. For really cool but memory consuming games download ION or MirageOS and get the games that work under them. some are pretty good.
Just keep in mind that they can be really distracting if you have homework to do.

or if that annoying math teacher opens their yap and starts blabbing some strange underground language which seems to be half english and half random numbers and letters.

Yeah that language called math. right now its Trigonometric identites. cant use a graphing calc for that.:(
Rodie: Pimpquest is fun. pimpquest3 is dumb.
THose calculators make math so much easier though. especially if you know how to use them to their full extent.

Anybody have a TI-83+ silver edition? I borrowed a friends the other day and that thing is fast! It calculates intersections and zeroes (x-intercepts) instantly. It takes a second or two on the regular TI-83. It's still not worth another 50 bucks, but it's kinda cool!

I need games to keep me occupied while obsessed fangirls bug me in band to see my manga sketches...:o

At my school they actually banned games on them calculators.
They'd randomly check every now and then, and if you had a game on them... DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELETE.

I am proud to say that my school is cool enough not to have problems with people playing games on calculators.

I had to delete all my programs before my math test yesterday!!!
I made a cool guess the number game. It was pretty hard too  . Anyways, pimpquest is awesome. Haven't played it in a while though. There are a lot of good games though. The card games(BlackJack, Poker) are fun. And Tetris, and especially bomberman, that game kicked some bootay for a calculator game.

Why would they want to steal sketches of Dejiko from Digi Charat, and Narusegawa from Love Hina?

(I'm guessing it gets passed around?) and sometimes they just vanish forever (probably got eaten by somebody's goldfish).

But when the teacher asks us to clear our memory, she's just telling us to clear our RAM, all archived progs still work fine ;)

You do know that there are programs that can hide games, notes, etc right?

Yeah, but that would be cheating
And if you get caught cheatin, you get a plump 0 for your mark.

Or you can archive them and give them bogus names. The school never checks our calculators.

We're not even allowed to bring calculators to school. The idea of using them during tests or whatever is simply out of the question. They make us calculate on scrap paper. Which is perfectly fine for me.

Have you ever noticed that the cable that links one calc to another fits inside your sound card?
Shouldn't a person create a program that can use the sound card to send data like it would to speakers, but rather send Ti Calc programs?
It would really help us misers who don't want to buy some cable for $30 ;)

Does the calculator plug fit inside the speaker jack of a computer?

What kind of math? I have no clue. :p But as far as I know, no calculators are necessary up to now. Maybe we'll need 'em later on, I don't know. Doesn't seem likely though.

I can't tell you, because I have no idea what they're called in English, and I can't show you the equations here.

Students don't use calculators in India. Every calculation is supposed to be done on scrap paper and this is throughout the schooling period.

That is probably a much better way. I try to do it on paper as much as i can, but i make a lot of small mistakes becasue i can barley decode my own writing..

Trig and log tables are used more often, requires more brain power. Calculators rot and spoil your brain. :p

Do they ask you to use those in your school? Oh, I wish they could do that here.
I feel like I am getting dumber everyday since I started using calculators instead of doing all the calculations on my own. :p

I could not imagine doing Pre-Calc without a graphing calculator... I'm a very visual learner too, so it helps if I can see a graph of the problem I am trying to solve. It's also a great way to doublecheck your work.

I'm a very visual learner too, so it helps if I can see a graph of the problem I am trying to solve. That's a good thing, but not when you rely on your calculator for solving all your calculations. Calculators can get addictive... I was barely able to resist using calculators when I was in elementary school doing division. :D It was just too friggin complicated to calculate back then.
