Toefur - Just remember, there's always a reason why it happens and chances are that reason means you didnt want to be with her anyways.... obviously she's a good perosn if you dated her bu things don't always work out (which sucks)
Just think of it this way... as bad as your day was... mine was worse ;P

That reminds me...
A guy at work walked up to a server ( p.c. waiter/waitress) and said "I can't find my keys... can you check the bushes by your house?"
I laughed very hard at that one.

Day after day love turns grey
like the skin on the dying man
and night after night we pretend its alright
but i have grown older and you have grown colder
and nothing is very much fun anymore
and download 'Are You Lonesome Tonight' by Sam Kinison.
but seriously relationships come and go, rarely do they last forever. Just that one special person that you will probably never find. ppl are always talking that soulmate ----, if you ask me its more about being in the right place at the right time. What are the chances your 'soulmate' will be living the tri-county area?? oh well its better to have loved and lost...yadda yadda yadda.
Hell your still better off than me, i am about as popular with the ladies as a yeast infection.

Giancarlo- dont say that. As I see it, life never sucks; just look back at the simple things, or ignore the bad things.
I haven't had a girlfriend in quite some time either. I gave up the great chase, because as soon as i got a girlfriend i had girls chasing me. I am usually pretty quiet, so i dont really attract much female attention UNTIL i get hooked up and then all the girls start hearing about me or something and all want me. I dont know WTF is up with that. I could write a book about the wierd things that happen to me.
Unfortunatly my early highscool years went to the tune of party -->humpem and dumpem. i know it sounds real bad, and thats another reason i dont have a girlfriend.
but anyways, lets not get too personal

Yo Giancarlo, watch your language or I'll sic the gay mafia on you.
Heh. I'm sure this lively post cheered you right up, Toefur. Maybe we could all get into a political debate about how neo-Liberalism is dead, too! I'm sure that would make my day.
Anyway, for your edification and enjoyment: a mathematical proof that girls are evil.
1. Money is the root of all evil.
2. Money = sqrt(evil)
3. Girls require money spent over a period of time.
4. Girls = money * time.
5. Time = money.
6. Girls = money * money.
7. Girls = sqrt(evil) * sqrt(evil)
8. Girls = evil.
Thank you and good night.

Hell no, I am a supporter of George W. Bush, and a patriot. I am against equal rights, gay weddings, and am against all attempts to pull anything off like that. Additionally I am so far into the party, I might be called a reformist (Pat Buchanan). I think you are mixing me up with someone else.
And I want to live up to 90. The average life expectancy for a ------ is 39. And no I am not 411, look it up yourself.

A larger problem? The problem is I am being accused of things I am not. I am here to address those accusations completely without delay and I will not ignore them, especially if I am accused by someone this large-scale and gross.
Someone's sexuality is not their ethnicity and is a different matter altogether.

Hey, I agree with Giancarlo here. Why should I look at other perspectives when I'm perfectly happy in my collegiate bubble of leftist pipe dreams? If I actually stepped back and examined my knee-jerk political ideology, I might find out that it's not the one-stop solution to everybody's problems. And in general, I see no reason to make any attempt at self-knowledge, especially since if I never bother to know myself I have no hope of understanding other people -- it just makes being blind and pompous that much easier!
Giancarlo
October 7th, 2001, 14:42
Wrong. I am not anti-communist just because I hate communism without any reason. I have studied Communism and find it to be purely wrong and illogical. I looked over it, and discarded it as a false philosophy. So the statement you made Robin is contradictory to what I am saying. I study other opinions, but I strongly believe my opinion is the solution to the world's problems.

The other way around? How could that be possible? I am not a queer, do not look like one, and I want to live up to 85 or even 90 not 39.

As the republican platform says, NO! They defy the laws of evolution, we evolved to reproduce ergo they are freaks of nature. Their life-span is only 39, therefore what they are doing is unnatural. You will be surprised my opinion is NOT based on religion, rather is based on science. You may call me a fascist pig, but you are a hypocrit if you discriminate against my opinion because all you propose is tolerance. Can you tolerate those who are intolerant? It would make me a hypocrite because your discrimination is illegal and so discriminating against a discrimnatory opinion is deemed better than one that is purely discrimnatory without reason.
You're just incapable of accepting the opinion that sexual orientation should never determine how someone is treated.

It may be illegal, but I am not saying "kill all the gays"... what I am saying is they should obstinate from what they do. Can you answer this: "We evolved to procreate, so why are there queers?"

Genetic changes, so what? Does that mean that we should use laws that have been used in the 50s before the civil rights movement in the US on Black Americans on gays and lesbians? That is wrong.

As the republican platform says...Giancarlo, all you every do here is regurgitate back what the Party tells you. Don't you ever have your own thoughts and come to your own conclusions? Have you ever disagreed with or even just doubted one thing the Party stands for?
They defy the laws of evolutionWhat laws would those be? Almost all animals practice some form of homosexual behavior (ever gone to the zoo and watched a monkey?), it's not something new only found in 21st century humans.
we evolved to reproduce ergo they are freaks of nature. We survived because we were the fittest and the weak died out, ergo hospitals for treating those enfeebled are filling our perfect race with inferiors (tell me, was Heinrich Himmler your biology teacher?)
Their life-span is only 39A statistic formed by averaging someone who died at the age of two and someone that lived to be seventy-seven doesn't say anything about a gay person's life span.
therefore what they are doing is unnatural.A fruit fly only lives a few days, they must abominations unto god if live expectancy determines naturalality.

rather is based on science.Um, yeah, "science".

Why are you so interested in what I think is right or not?
Can you leave me alone?
What I am proposing is that they should obstinate, but who the hell cares? They can screw up their own life with aids or whatever nasty disease evolution played out for freaks of nature. There are diseases for normal people, but the diseases for queers are much more numerous.
This is my actual opinion, and is what I think. Forget the republican platform. I don't discriminate against people just because of the color of their skin, but I do discriminate against people who are queer, if you have a problem with that then be it so.

Well said, Dusty. Boo-ya.
And just to be devil's advocate because Science Is God and all, who's to say that homosexual behavior doesn't happen (as it does, indeed, in many animal species) as a form of population control?
Also, consider that one's adherence or non-adherence to a political agenda does not dictate their sexuality! I know lots of gay Republicans -- and gay Christian Republicans, even. They are Republicans because they are economically conservative and believe that the federal government should keep its nose out of certain things, and their political beliefs do not extend to their sexual orientations. Some gay Republicans support things like gay marriage and some don't -- but not all Republicans are heterosexual. That just doesn't make sense.
If you want us to think you're smart and well-versed in politics, try forming your own opinions. Any sufficiently gifted programmer can write a c program to regurgitate vaguely relevant Republican rhetoric, but if you've got the capacity to think and reason, for God's sake, use it.

Giancarlo -
It seems to me like you've got yourself into a bit of a bad situation. While I'm not nearly as regular a user on these forums as most, I've had my share of debates and arguments, some aside you and some against you and its clear that while I agree with you in many points, you really fail to understand a few major human ideas.
Generally people feel their ideas are right or at least are not wrong so when you state that msot everyone around you is wrong and that you are right because, well, you say so, you alienate yourself from people. Politically, I grew up in Berkeley, CA which may be the most liberal place in the world depending on who you ask yet I voted for Bush last election. Granted I live in Southern California now which is more conservative then up North, but the point remains, I went against the popular idea to those I grew up with.
Still, I don't tell them they are wrong, nor do they tell me I am wrong. We all make choices, we all have opinions and while they may differ from those around us, that does not mean we are better, superior or in any way more "right" than anyone else. While we often feel that people who are for a certain thing like higher-taxes are morons, they are not truly morons but simply people with a different approach to life.
Certainly there are people in this world who lack proper thought and stick to ideas based on principle rather than reason. However, when someone alginates themselves, when someone takes the position you have taken time and again to never concede a point, to never really analyze the opposition or to think about the other approach, you end up just like these people -- stuck in the worlds of rhetoric and principle.
Before you start cutting apart my thread, please realize that I am not trying to harm or attack you. Your actual ideas in this thread are not what I am targeting. When I was about your age (not too long ago), I too was very, very opinionated, very stuck in a few narrow ideas and rarely looked outside. After a few years and some liberal education, I still hold most of these ideas but I have seen the other side to things, I can understand where people who disagree are coming from and why. In order to succeed in politics or business one MUST understand the people they deal with. Based on your past statements I believe you want to go into politics or law enforcement or a similar field which means this is very, very true for you. Before you will be allowed into any field of this nature, you're going to have to learn that your idea is not the only idea, not the absolute idea and it is by no means the right idea. Every idea has merit and credit and at the risk of sounding like one of my former Berkeley hippie-friends, every idea is valid. Ideas can be debated and struck down, but when you alienate yourself from a group, you no longer have a place in that group, you loose your "leg" and no one takes your ideas as seriously.
Well, I highly doubt you read most of that but once again, before you start an attack, just think about what it is your attacking and why.

I am sorry, but my conservative ideas are close to that of Joseph McCarthy. But, there is one element that is different. (The fact I am not religious) The main element is I investigate and do research into what communism is and other philosophies like socialism, and build my beliefs on the murderously fatal mistakes these systems make.
I will not start an attack because you do have a point, and I meet those standards. I look at other philosophies and do investigating. Nazism, Communism, Socialism, Absolutism, and other systems. I do my research and then build my beliefs on more logical and humane ideals.
You may think that my anti-gay approach is unacceptable and is intolerant but there is one thing you must look at: This world is not shifting your way, we are reaching a new era of center-right politics where religion is no longer the fact in right-wing ideals such as mine. We rather use other elements to justify ourselves, and if you denounce this because you are liberal, you qualify as an hypocrit. If you cannot accept that other people have different ideas, then you are the one with a closed mind. That is a fatally incorrect element that liberals often make, and inturns depicts them as everyday fools with no intelligence, but then again that is a generalization.
Let me believe in what I want to believe in and stop questioning my beliefs because you find them unacceptable. That is not your business, and you should not be critising me, when your own beliefs are fatally flawed in hypocracy.

CHOMSKY: This is mostly propaganda, in my opinion. What is called 'capitalism' is basically a system of corporate mercantilism, with huge and largely unaccountable private tyrannies exercising vast control over the economy, political systems, and social and cultural life, operating in close co-operation with powerful states that intervene massively in the domestic economy and international society. That is dramatically true of the United States, contrary to much illusion. The rich and privileged are no more willing to face market discipline than they have been in the past, though they consider it just fine for the general population. Merely to cite a few illustrations, the Reagan administration, which revelled in free market rhetoric, also boasted to the business community that it was the most protectionist in post-war US history - actually more than all others combined. Newt Gingrich, who leads the current crusade, represents a superrich district that receives more federal subsidies than any other suburban region in the country, outside of the federal system itself. The 'conservatives' who are calling for an end to school lunches for hungry children are also demanding an increase in the budget for the Pentagon, which was established in the late 1940s in its current form because - as the business press was kind enough to tell us - high tech industry cannot survive in a pure, competitive, unsubsidized, 'free enterprise' economy, and the government must be its saviour. Without the saviour, Gingrich's constituents would be poor working people (if they were lucky). There would be no computers, electronics generally, aviation industry, metallurgy, automation, etc., etc., right down the list. Anarchists, of all people, should not be taken in by these traditional frauds.
More than ever, libertarian socialist ideas are relevant, and the population is very much open to them. Despite a huge mass of corporate propaganda, outside of educated circles, people still maintain pretty much their traditional attitudes. In the US, for example, more than 80% of the population regard the economic system as inherently unfair and the political system as a fraud, which serves the special interests, not the people. Overwhelming majorities think working people have too little voice in public affairs (the same is true in England), that the government has the responsibility of assisting people in need, that spending for education and health should take precedence over budget-cutting and tax cuts, that the current Republican proposals that are sailing through Congress benefit the rich and harm the general population, and so on. Intellectuals may tell a different story, but it's not all that difficult to find out the facts.

What a bunch of bull----! Corporate profit is necessary for the economy to grow! What kind of person are you? YOU WANT TO STEAL THE MONEY AND JOBS FROM THE PEOPLE, that is one bad philosophy... why don't you become a republican? Communism will never be used ever, anywhere anymore.
There are three classes, but as blinded with this as you are you deny that. The second class, has many luxuries that do not come in communism and make the majority. Stop preaching this, and come to the conclusion it cannot be used in the US.

Alright, this thread is finished with. I just contacted Todd and he will either delete it or close it if he follows my suggestion inwhich he obviously will because it has turned into a bashing and propaganda thread turned to trying to ruin my future. That I will not accept, if you go after my future and say I am not going to get anywhere with a future major in business and politics with an MBA, you are a person of very low integrity and personal fiber. Your attitude is no better than Adolf Hitler's towards the Jews.
That was directed towards everyone involved with this thread.

Your entire basis of your beliefs!
You don't want the economy to make money, and you want us living in the stone age. Be my guest and go on your own.

I just wanted to know where you got the idea that I was stealing money and jobs from the people, or if it was just you popping off at the mouth. I guess it was just the later... again.

Did you read a thing Ted said ???

Money is the system that capitalist use to farm the working class. In communism you don't even need a system of money becuase it goes beyond profit and earnings and all that. If you don't understand that, then you obviously don't know anything about it, and should maybe stop saying that you do.

Giancarlo did indeed contact me about this and I can see why after reviewing the thread closer. First things first is calling some one gay as intended as an insult would fall under the personal attack section of the rules. Now if that's someone’s sexuality and they don't object then it's not a personal insult. However, Giancarlo has clearly stated that he is not gay and by posting this he obviously objects to it. Meaning neither of the exceptions can be applied so I ask that you simply drop it. I'd rather not go through this whole thread and edit every petty attack.
I am going to lock this thread as it seems to be off topic and if you wish to address a specific issue in this thread then please start a new thread.
