Are the URL redirection scripts any good?

Has anyone experience with the domain redirection scripts (such as http://www.kastle.net/products/URLredirect)? Do they slow the redirect down much and are they reliable? Do they work with search engine spiders? Any recommendations and thoughts appreciated.
