Operating SystemsNick October 30th, 2000, 22:10 Can anybody give me a list of all the operating systems available? Remy Canad October 30th, 2000, 23:15 Well sorta, becuase of linux and unix there are too many to list all the distributions so I am just listing linux and unix. But here is all that come to mind. Windows, 3.1 95 98 ME NT 2000 Dos, every version. Linux Unix OS/2 Mac OS/#-x sun os Xenix (hehe) AIX (I think this and the one above is a unix clone from ibm and microsoft not sure) Umm there are many more just cant think of them right now, as soon as I hit the summit button I will think of more. Koolguy October 31st, 2000, 00:44 here are some more: solaris FreeBSD sgfx Windows CE (kinda) Nick October 31st, 2000, 06:04 A few there I didn't know about. Thanks. Mandrake October 31st, 2000, 09:05 BeOS NeXT ac October 31st, 2000, 14:05 Also how about adding the pros and cons. Coolin October 31st, 2000, 22:22 Originally posted by Koolguy here are some more: solaris FreeBSD sgfx Windows CE (kinda) If Windows CE is an OS, so is PalmOS. Ok, reviews??? Hmm, Windows CE is pratically a portable entertainment center that's useless for business use. It's also expensive and drains batteries quickly. Palm OS is aimed for usability for businesses (ppl who need these things most). It also doesn't use as much electricity. kennymoens August 21st, 2001, 11:39 EPOC is then also an OS :D Isn't it fun to see those old threads again? ;) HK2 August 21st, 2001, 11:49 Not really ;) IRIX Bruce August 21st, 2001, 11:54 Originally posted by kennymoens Isn't it fun to see those old threads again? ;) NO! Now, in the words of Todd, "Please don't dig up old threads." HK2 August 21st, 2001, 11:56 Those words were spoken to me by Peo as well when I digged up one thread from November 2000 kennymoens August 21st, 2001, 12:00 OK, I know it, I'm criminal :bandit2: LastActionHero August 21st, 2001, 12:18 QNX LeX August 22nd, 2001, 03:24 I love WindowsCE when it comes to boring school assemblies (sp?). Well, if it had games on it... :D I found it very useful for killing time and sleep prevention. Minion August 22nd, 2001, 04:55 PongOS!!!! coolguy23 August 22nd, 2001, 09:44 go to they've got a whole lot except for the ones owned by microsoftf*ck microsoft (http://www.----microsoft.com/) niv August 22nd, 2001, 10:14 you must mean ----microsoft.com (http://www.fuc%6Bmicrosoft.com) LeX August 22nd, 2001, 10:37 Hey, cool, I never knew about this before..... niv August 22nd, 2001, 10:41 their forwarding doesn't work. Minion August 24th, 2001, 09:02 Originally posted by Hayama-kun you must mean ----microsoft.com (http://www.fuc%6Bmicrosoft.com) I like Linuxsucks.com (http://www.linuxsucks.com) myself. :) >EDIT< Why Linux Sucks (http://www.spatula.net/proc/linux/index.src) is good too. :) :) :) niv August 24th, 2001, 09:19 Linuxsucks.com exists because: 1. People are afraid to use it because of the complicated syntax. 2. Not too many people know of its advantages. 3. These people kiss Microsoft's worldwide ---. 4. These former users of Linux fuxx0red up their machines because they are idiots ;) Minion August 24th, 2001, 09:28 I knew that post would bring out the kidiots! "1. People are afraid to use it because of the complicated syntax." How dare people want something user-friendly! "2. Not too many people know of its advantages." Not too many people CARE about it's advantages. "3. These people kiss Microsoft's worldwide ---." You'll find that happens when you're #1. "4. These former users of Linux fuxx0red up their machines because they are idiots ;)" "Everyone's dumb but me!" The Linux user war cry. niv August 24th, 2001, 09:35 Yaay! Flame war! :D "How dare people want something user-friendly!" How dare people want to use something that crashes every 15 seconds! (Figuratively speaking, it can happen.) "Not too many people CARE about it's advantages." That's because they don't know about it. Would you rather pay 700$ for legal software or 0$? "You'll find that happens when you're #1. " Why the hell do you support Microsoft? Do you work there? Are you a fan of their so-called support? Are you a fan of ASP pages that take 30 seconds to load? Are you a fan of their slip-shot work? Are you a fan of incompatibility issues? Are you a fan of security holes? Are you a fan of the Code RED and Code RED II virii? Are you a fan of their so-called MSN Internet Access which is most likely worse than AOL? "'Everyone's dumb but me!' The Linux user war cry." What kind of a response is this? Do you realize that my first post on this matter said former users of Linux? LastActionHero August 27th, 2001, 05:24 Way to go Hayama-kun! | ||||
