i just signed up for marhost and got their free pro package,what are your opinions on this host?i'm using this host for downloads,gallerys,and designs and a forum.they said they'll give me unlim megs,unlim bandwitdh,cgi and all the rest.but they have slow servers.

Their horribly horribly horribly slow servers far outweigh the benefit of being able to store all you want and get as much traffic as you want for free with no ads being displayed on your pages.

yep stay well away from them they are lying about cgi i uploaded a ubb and it never worked so i tryed ib and that never worked and i emailed there support and i havn't got a reply.

Aren't they on cable? It's hard to keep straight which host are on cable, and which ones are just crappy.

And the other Ben at Spunge.org

There have also been rumors that Portland.co.uk was at one time connected at 56k although I don't see that possible as they're pretty fast most of the time.
