Is there any FWP for domains that comes with ample amount (at least 20 megs) of space, ASP support, and a CGI-BIN? I don't care about advertisements.

You should try out the power search : http://www.freewebspace.net/search/power.shtml

Shows me 3 hosts.

Maybe you should check it again : http://www.freewebspace.net/cgi-bin/db2/db.cgi?sb=1&so=ascend&view_records=1&Language=---&Location=---&Space=%3E0.0&Adtype=---&CGI=CGI-BIN&Domain=Domain&ASP=ASP&Title=&mh=10

I don't know about the first two listed on that search, but SFX-Serve up-and-disappeared a few weeks ago. Gone. Without a trace. No informing of their users or anything. And CGI didn't work on them anyway, just ASP. Not that it matters now...

AscensionWeb is one of those hosts that requires certain things for you to be hosted. I remember looking over the site, but I can't recall what it said. Also, BootBox has been discussed in these forums already, so you should easily find some comments about them if you searched.

Basically to be allowed on AscensionWeb, you have to have a gaming site... (in fact, AscensionWeb should be taken off the search/co-branded pages and moved to the antiquated game sites page)

BootBox? Well... no.

With AscensionWeb you don't have to have a gaming site... It has to be an entertainment site... It can be anything entertainment -- Music, Games, Sports, etc... As long as its entertaining.... Then you'll be accepted. I know this... because one of my domains was hosted with them... and then I moved... (I changed my mind with the content of the domain).

Doesn't hurt to email them and ask....

You have to have banners on the top 1/3 of the page... they have CGI, ASP - bad thing about their CGI -- you have to email the webmaster and he'll make the folders executible and chmod any that are specific and otherwise wont be chmoded correctly by NT.

I have heard that AscensionWeb is hosted on a T1. They also seem to be hosting a lot of sites, therefore making the server slow. If you host with them, you site will probably take a while to load.

They have more than one server, I don't remember how many though... its been a while since I chatted with the owner. But I know its more than 1 server.

Umm, I don'tknow why any has mentioned this one. DomainDLX.com .. hmm well they dont say anything about CGI ... so if you REALLY need CGI then forget about domainDLX.com .. otherwise give them a try ..

It's still a T1, if a cable modem user is downloading a file off of them. Then the entire network will upload at 56K speeds.
