not sure about what they offer but from what i understand:
FTP + Telnet Shell
"Unlimited space (to reason)" and unlimited bandwidth to a point...but do they offer PHP/CGI and how long does the signup process take?

Woah, woah.. a few misinterpretations here. First of all, there is no "unlimited" resource at TWU.Net. A recommendation is that if you use a service like Jess', you try to be more conservative with your web page building.. basically meaning to avoid big files if possible. The "unlimited" bandwidth means there's no *EXACT* cap on how much you can use, but TWU.Net is only allowed a certain amount per month (without having to pay extra charges, which *would* come from the users that consume the most bandwidth...)
And to the best of my knowledge, TWU.Net offers MySQL (I'm assuming, since they do support other database platforms..)

They seem to have nice uptime from what I see on their site. So far it's been 6 days up without being down, that's pretty good for such a nice service.

When did they started offering mySQL??
I have a site with them... and I got email from them (as a group email) saying:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This mail's subject: IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT SQL ON TWU
To all TWU users--
To all those who have asked in the past or were curious for the present-- MySQL and PostgreSQL are not yet set up for multiuser use on TWU. I do not want help setting them up and I do not want to answer any more "when will MySQL be set up" or "can you set me up for MySQL"-type
questions. Please do not bother me, support or policy with these sorts of questions.
TWU is run out of my pocket. I will do these things when I have the time to do so.
Cheers,
--Jess
I hope this clears up the mySQL rumors.... :)

I am currently hosting hosting a site at twu.net and have been hostin there for about 1 month. The longest downtime so far was only an hour or 2 so in time when my site recievs fewer hits anyways. This was after 25 days of uptime so i didnt mind. Jess has always been helful and promt in replying to some questions i had.
The only problem i have with twu is that they are only allowed a certain amount of bandwidth per month so as they get more signups and users less and less bandwidth is available for each member.

ok ok ok...i'll just cut down on the big files, use some crap like juston for that, then keep the small text-based files on their servers :) i guess that'll clear up my problems

Twu.net seems just like another "unlimited" space host that likes to impose other restrictions to keep you from taking full advantage of it, sort of like Spree.com (with the 500 k file limit) and gojasper.com (with the 300 k file limit). I don't know why the hell some FWP's call their offers "unlimited" if they limit what you can upload, friggin' dumbasses.
