Yaaaayyy! :D:D
After pleading my mom who got my dad to nod his head I got a HP PSC 500 scanner/printer/copier all in one!
Hayama-kun..... do you still need me to scan it for you? :)

Sounds Saaawweet! I use my scanner to copy mostly, and a little OCR. One neat thing is that my Canon printer can have a scan cartridge you can put in, and it will scan paper. Not bad, but then you can't scan other things...:D

Scanner/printer/copier all in one? Sounds impressive.
Are those things expensive?

Last time I check one of those all-in-one devices cost like $250 to $300. That is sorta expensive...

Whoa wait a second... the cheapest price I found for those all-in-one devices is $115.
And look at this:

That is the one being sold for $161 on that site. Does 48-bit color scanning and is a Lexmark.

Lexmark... heh, it has my name in it, so it's superior! :devious2:
Actually, I was gonna get the cheaper Lexmark brand, but then I spotted this baby made by our friendly HP company that raised the price tag a coupla bucks up for (supposedly) higher quality, and that's how I ended up with it. :D

:D
The reason why I am buying it...
Lexmark doesn't have bad quality, actually it is quite good (but I must admit HP is better)... it is for us kids who can't convince their dad's to get anything better.

ok, I think I've seen this somewhere, but I am not sure.
A scanner/printer/coppier/fax/answering machine/telephone machine all in one.
If somebody know about this let me know.
Also a question not entirely relevant:
If you have a telephone/fax machine , but you only have one telephone line, is there any way (or any machine) that the machine will recognize if its a fax and print it, and if its a phone call to make the telephone ring?

Fax numbers are different than regular phone numbers being 8 digits. The problem is in Argentina the phone numbers are 8 digits so that might be a problem for faxing. It will be no problem to anybody in the US.

I saw a thing on QVC about the LexMark All in 1, it was like 150$ looked really sweet, and was very compact. Our offices uses the Hewlett Packard edition which is ratehr expensive at 430$ but works well. Nice to fax from room to room..

my dad gets me what i want within reason i have to convince him it is much better and worth the money. (which is hard to do with computers)

I've got one of those all-in-one HP things too (mine doesn't have a FAX, though, I've got a separate one of those)
If you have a telephone/fax machine , but you only have one telephone line, is there any way (or any machine) that the machine will recognize if its a fax and print it, and if its a phone call to make the telephone ring? You can get "distinctive ring service", which is sort of like that. Basically, you get two phone numbers that both go down the same line. One, when called, makes a normal ringing sound (one long pules). The other makes a quick ring (two short bursts). Most FAXes can be setup so that they'll only answer quick rings.
Even though you have two numbers, you still only have one line, so you can't use both the phone and the FAX at the same time.

So far all the reviews I have read on the Lexmark X73 Multifunction have been good.
I got a new avatar... WWII Hero General Patton, WorldWarGeneral probably knows who he is.

I see. Well, fax wouldn't be that important to me, but i will need the rest (scanner printer etc) so I was just thinking that it would be nice if a machine could recognize if its a fax or phone call without me having to pay for any additional services or buy additional lines.

I bought a scanner last year and after using it for 2 or 3 months I had to throw it away because something was broken internally and my dad didnt buy any warranties on it..
So I bought another one after a month or so and it was broken after 2 or 3 month.(hm..I wonder why?) This time I had warranty, so I was going to bring it back to the store where I bought it and ask them to fix it but the store was emptied and there was a sign outside saying 'For Lease'!!!!!! Oh man, I had the worst experiences on buying scanners...

Same here, we had a scanner where you had to feed in the paper, it wasn't flatbed, and the ribbon get messed up so we couldn't scan in anything anymore. Now we got an HP Scanjet 3400C, excellent and it has a transulcent top.
Always get a warrenty on the damn thing, or a nice store return policy... where you can come back with the scanner and get a new later for half the price you bought it at. Even if it was two years after you bought it.

Bad luck I guess... I ordered the scanner from egghead.com which filled for bankruptcy not to long ago.
