Arizona wont be back.. they were structured for a one year run as the Marlins were years back.

They were a team built to win the series yestersay, but somehow won it today..

(If yuo understand the analogy..

now see the thing with the marlins is they invest all of their money in their farm system so every 5 years they will come back and be really good. but between those years. it is awful.

Go Expos! (like they're ever gonna win) :D

I didn't hear about Diamond Backs untill Luis Gonzalez won the Home Run Challenge.

yeah, im not a big sports fan at all.. and i dont watch tv either, so.. that adds to it.

i personally think sports are boring... i mean.. whats the point? a whole bunch of andrenaline pumped jocks hitting balls with sticks?

bouncing a ball around on a floor trying to get it through a hole?

come on...

(sorry, i had a little rant in me.:))

Hey, it isn't the fault of the Diamondbacks that you're ignorant. It also isn't their fault that you're able to hate a team you'd never even heard of.

Curt Schilling proved once again that he can always rise to the occasion. 3 great starts in the series. And RJ in relief the day after he started... that's amazing.

So, good does triumph over evil in the end after all. :) Finally we have a new World Champion. Now I can go back to rooting against the D-Backs (for the Giants) and retire this avatar in another day or two. :p

All I can say about the Diamondbacks are... here today, gone tomorrow. They have mortgage their future and this will be the last we hear from them for some years.

As for earlier comments about the Expo's and Marlin's.... you guys act like they will be around next year. There is a good chance that they will both be closed down or moved in the next few months.

The Expos may not even EXIST next year. They're talking about eliminating them and either the Marlins or Devil Rays since they don't make money anymore.

Hopefully here in Arizona... I think he would be a nice replacement for Reggie Sanders who will probably not be back next year. :)

We'll be around for awhile... Jerry Colangelo doesn't like to lose. :)

They used to be the Washington Bullets and they were good at one time.

Well, Wizards just sound a lot cooler than Bullets.. I mean, Jordan is a Wizard.. not a bullet.. Just watch him!

You seem to forget that it is not all his money. They would have to go to the World Series every year just to make a profit.... Pheonix does not begin to have the revenue that NY or LA has with TV and such. Then there is all that money out to older players. Long after those guys are gone there will be a major impact on the D'Backs salary cap.

Your guys "might" make it to the first round of the playoffs next year but that will be it for years to come. I'll stick with my earlier prediction... they are history, enjoy while you got it.

We should go farther than that... It's going to be pretty much the same team. Most of them are under contract through next season and some through 2003. And hopefully we can boost pitching a little bit. It would be nice to see Todd Stottlemyre actually earn all that money that he's being paid.
