I have a few people on my list that are from my school that have been there for a while and I haven't talked to them before. So now I'm begining to wonder who has me on my buddy list and just hasn't IM'ed me yet. Does anyone know a prog or whatever they're called that would tell me who has me on their buddy list

I don't know why... but I reckon that would be seriously cool.
However, I'm quite certain there is no such program.

Although I doubt that such a program exists, I would like to know who has ME on their list. I certainly have a lot of names... that I don't talk to, or even know where they came from.

its impossible, there is no way to call up someones buddy list, if its not yours.
yes you can, just make a small prg in VB & have them open it, it would send you an IM if yes/no, but thats silly

hmm. is it just me or if you don't know who has you on their list, how are you supposed to send them the program to open it?
anyway... i was just wondering how do you guys have people you don't talk to/don't know on your AIM list? I have 96 ppl on my list and there is no single person there that I don't know in real life, and in fact I talk to all of them even some of them not so often.
I mean AIM is not like ICQ... you can't really just search for someone by random and add them.. don't see how you could have someone you don't know on your list.

Not ever having used AIM myself....
But I would guess that you can send your contact list like ICQ, and maybe people just add all those to their list, and don't know who they are?

You can load and save buddy lists, but it's really not intended for exchanging them with people.
My buddy list has 2 people on it. :D One of them I haven't talked to in months, though. (In ICQ I have 2 other people, and again only one that I talk to much.) Refusing to list my AIM name anywhere or give it to anyone really keeps things simple. :)

Im sure there is a way to do the requested..
Here is how it would work.. if it did..
The newer versions of AIM save the list online. The key would be changing the registry to fool AIM into thinking that you were the name you want to view, and log on using their name.
I am sure it isnt very hard.. probably a few hours worth of work.

it happenes that i know a lot about this subject.
there is no way of "Fooling" the registry, because you would need the persons password, eithr way.
but, since the B/L is stored on AOL's servers, there is probably a way to call the buddy list from the server. You also, may need an Internal AOL.

It's simple: I got some people that go to my school that I don't know on there because my friend gave me some their screen names. The reason I have them is if I ever needed a homework assignment or whatever.

Actually you can search for people. Just use the aim wizard and find a buddy with a common intrest :).

I don't use AOL, cos no-one I know uses it either. I use MSN messenger, and if someone tries to add you it asks for you permission, so you know who has you on their list.

On my AIM list, I'd say I have somehwere around 50 people I have no clue who they are. I never talk to them... :confused2

It would have to be an illegal tracking program is there was one.
