Phase one begins on thursday. Its just a paper strile. no paperwork is done. ie repot cards attendance, suspensions etc. phase two could be as soon as two weeks.

the teachers dont even knowif they are allowed to strike. If so I doubt a full blowd strike will last much longer than a week or two.

it gonna be a 'unstrike' kind of strike...funny eh?

My mom was soooooooo freakin' happy when that Gordon Campell guy made all the BC teachers 'essencial workers'

Attendance isn't taken and no suspensions are given to anyone? That must have all the students really depressed. ;)

Actually most students are really angry. No dances, no report cards (which are important), no homework marking, no after school help, all the new renovated buildings are going to be empty because teachers or students aren't allowed to move desks, etc...

Teachers in AB were about to strike a few years ago. It came to we had to move everything out of our lockers and stuff, cause a lockout was going to happen. By the time I got home from school that day, they had settled. I didn't miss any school!

Another dispute may be coming soon. They don't really have a contract right now I think.

THat isnt totally correct, at least not at the school i am at. Homework is marked, and the marks are recorded in the teachers computer. for gr12s the marks will still be sent to whichevr university the student applied at. Marks are still available- all you have to do is ask the teacher. Some teachers choose to stay available afterhours and at lunch, too.

They aren't allowed after hours... as of tomorrow. My CAPP 11 teacher (I'm in grade 12... it's a dual 11/12 class) says we won't get marks!

For CAPP are you given a booklet that you work out of on your own time, or does a teacher actually teach it to you?

I agree. We got to work on our own out of a booklet. I found it pretty pointless. I got 100% on the work and about 60% on the tests. the tests were a lot harder than the work

Seriously? I always get 100% on the tests. I got 35.5/37 today and got mad! :D 100% on the work too. Our tests have questions like:

On your resume, you should include your:
(a) Weight (b) Marital Status (c) Employment History (d) Spouse's name

:D ;)

I don't know how you guys do it, but here at Point Grey in Vancouver, the teacher takes the marks and the stuff, but they just don't report it to the office.

Excellent..:D
