I switched to morpheus about a month back, but I had some partial downloads still in KaZaA. Out of curiosity, I copied the .dat files from the KaZaA shared folder to the Morpheus folder and they were picked up and added to my download list. Just wanted to let anyone else who switched over know. It saved me from downloading 80MBs over again :).

I thought it was sorta obvious when the Morpheus partial downloads were called kazaadownload4264272454234.dat...

yeah.. i thought that was sorta odd... i went from kazaa to morpheus, and they're exactly the same, in appearance and stuff... i didnt notice one diffrence.. (besides it saying "morpheus" instead of "kazaa" and stuff like that)

Morpheus and KaZaa are too clunky for me. It seems they spent too much time on making the interface look like eye candy, and not enough time on the actual p2p program.

I use AudioGalaxy, or WinMX if I can't find it on AG.

I tried WinMX a while ago, and it didn't work great. Morpheus is okay, but sucks huge RAM.

That didn't necessarily mean it worked, just thought I'd let everyone know it did :p .

WinMX didn't work out for me.

Morpheus doesn't have the spyware that KaZaA has (so they say), that's the biggest difference of all.

KaZaa also limits the bitrate of the audio files you download.
They are planning to make you pay for the higher bitrate files.

You can always just edit the registry to get rid of the bitrate limits.

Not really... Morpheus uses less ram than IE does (for me at least).

Kazaa, Morpheus & Grokster are all products of http://www.fasttrack.nu/index_int.html which is why it is easy to configure them to work "back to back". As for spyware, it's a fact that Kazaa is infested & little doubt that Morpheus & Grokster are as well, considering it's the same technology, serving contextual advertising.

I've been using an excellent no ad, no spyware file share from: http://www.xolox.nl/ You never give personal information, not even an e-mail address. There's no chat, no central server...pure, simple file sharing. It's a solid program and easy to use.

BTW, anyone using Gator to manage passwords and auto complete forms needs to look into a no spyware alternative. It's easy to customize and even offers a converter to get your info out of Gator. Another solid piece of software: http://www.roboform.com/index.html

I recommend both of these, not just because they are excellent software, but also because Kazaa, Surf+, Gator have AdWare that displays advertising & replaces banners on sites and are stealing $$ from sites and their webmasters.

Free services are struggling and we're loosing more of them every day, they count on ad revenue. It is much healthier for the internet not to use, endorse or help AdWare steal more from struggling sites.

At least give XoloX (http://www.xolox.nl/ ) a try :D

On the topic of spyware, go to http://www.download.com and get a program called "Ad Aware". It gets rid of most (if not all) spyware that gets bundled with these p2p programs. It even clears out their entries from your registry.

But I do have some good feedback for Morpheus. I downloaded some uhm, free, software, from microsoftl :classic2:

Yeah that's what I did...for PaintShop Pro 7:D

Can we find the FULL version of a software(let say..PhotoShop6.0) instead of the TRIAL version on Morpheus?
