Design to Maximize Revnue

Anyone know of a good type of design, 800 * 600, that can be used to maximize ad exposure / revenue?

How do you guys lay out your banners? Eye level or top of the page?

Do side buttons provide much performance for anyone or are they simple not worth the space they take up?

I just put my banners at the top of the page. That way I don't have to have anything pop up and it's the first thing the visitor sees.

I find the top doesn't provide a good click thru rate since it is not at eye level, so thats why I'm looking at moving mine.

Otherwise the only real alternative is directly below your banner, which should be at the top. If be eye level you mean in the middle of the page, that's a bad idea. Would disrupt the whole design.
