Hi,
I run a site that is just a forum... my problem is this, it is getting big. I have had it running for 2 days and it already has about 200 registered members. It has grown from 4MB to 18MB in 2 days...
I am a poor bastard and cant afford to pay for hosting, I can barely pay my internet bill.
Does anyone know where I can get unlimited hosting for a domain that is just a forum? Or if that is impossible, really really really cheap hosting that will allow unlimited space?
Thanks.

hmmmm........
Are sure that your forum is really 18MB? From the looks of it it looks under 1MB...(do you have some hidden forums with thousands of messages?)
Take a look at this forum here (http://www.ikondiscussion.com/ikonboard/support/ikonboard.cgi). With almost 20000 messages and over 2000 members it is no more than about 30MB's (the whole site with the forum, all).
I'm just wondering are you sure you need more space...

He obvisously wants it for a "warez" site. His site seems to be related to it. The posts talk about downloading software for example Windows Me ... and many more.
Also he forum shouldn't be more then 2-3 mbs right now. I Am pretty sure of it I have ran a UBB board and it didn't take up that much space when I had a 250+ users and around 1000 posts(including threads and replies) ... IF you having a problem with UBB ... use Ikonboard. One of the best CGI Forums out here ... in my eyes it is. The new version (v3.) will be AWESOME! :D

chances are that if you are hosted on twu, you eat up a lot of bandwidth. host your forum there. i know i did (its not actived yet tho

UBB uses a lot of system resources and can eat bandwidth very quickly. Id suggest getting ur wallet out and visiting a finincail advisor and get urself a dedicated server.
If you can afford ubb why can u not afford hosting?.

I am poor.
I am not running a warez site.
I am running a community forum for 4 different sites.
One of them happen to be a warez site.
As long as I am not hosting the warez site I am not breaking the law.
I paid for my ubb. But the year has passed.

Well it's breaking the law if you don't renew the license of your UBB.
I hte to see people waste their money on UBB while Ikonboard does everything UBB does and it can be easily modded, same goes for UBB.
I think this is just a case of "Brand Name" vs. "No Name"

No it isn't, all that happens is that you can't get the updates for new versions of UBB.

Yes. The message goes like this:
"due to the horribly inefficient way that it was programmed. It is consuming too much RAM and disk bandwidth. On February 1st, 2001, Ikonboard will be officially banned, and any remaining sites using it will be deleted."
Is it so? Ihaven't used it yet.
Please share your experience with Ikonboard.
Thanks.

Hardly surprising a host isn't around from a thread nearly 2 years old. Don't bring up old threads.
