1. This board is scripted in php
2. vBulletin is the product name
3. vB is NOT free (yes you have to pay for it).
4. The creator of this thread was probably asking for a php forum that you install yourself in your own webspace (not remote hosted).

Just an FYI side note... the vblite forum isn't suitable to actually run a forum with. more of a, "can I set this up on a server and will it work when I get the real one" kinda thing.

If you're looking for ikonboard, then it's http://www.ikonboard.com/ . It's the best so far, for free.

iB isn't the best if you are planning on having a large, poprular forum with many users and a lot of hits.
iB is a cgi board; PHP is better for high traffic forums.

If you couldn't tell, I'm not a big fan of flat file forums.

A forum with 100 active users would warrant a PHP board.
I think it depends a lot on how active the users are, and how many people just visit the forum

I've used an Ikonboard with about 90 users before without a problem...mind you, a lot of the users didn't use the board a lot.

i got a friend who are using ikonboard 2.2 (beta). and his board got 1000 ++ member. almost half of them consider as active member. his board also got 10 000 ++ message already. and he use flat file database :)
anyway .. he is PERL programmer ... also one of ikonboard 2 developer. so maybe there some coding that he use to make his site faster.
flat file database isnt bad for PERL/Cgi type board. but for PHP or ASP you must consider using Database.
ikonboard 3 look good for me ... only the size quite big.

Ikonboard RC1 has an option to use a MySQL database instead of a flat-file one. I haven't tried it though.

And I wouldn't recommend using the mysql option for iB3 RC1 yet. Maybe wait until RC2 is released.

Cool. :cool2:
Alright, check this page out: http://www.uber-gaming.com/forums/thread.php?threadid=1&boardid=8
None of the posts show up, well not the texts at least (I've typed something in when posting) and there's this MySQL warning at the top of the page that says:
Warning: Empty regular expression in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/uber-gaming.com/httpdocs/forums/_functions.php on line 297

OK this has got to do with the censoring of words. In your admin cp you must have left the space meant to put censored words empty. Put in atleast one word there.

Wow thanks. Didn't think it was that simple.
Also, do you know a way so that when I delete the first post of the thread it also deletes the whole thread?
