I got an optical mouse!!

I just got an optical mouse. Too bad it just had to be a Microsoft Mouse but hey, I gotta save money don't I? The thing cost me $30 CAD. Its an Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical. Its so much better than the ball mouse that I used to use.


Now if only I can afford an fiber optic internet connection. :rolleyes:

Optical rocks! I hate all that crap that got stuck underneath the mouse where the ball rolls. After time you build of a bunch of gunk under there.

yeah i hate that too.

currently i have 2 mice hooked up one ball mouse (in ps2) and a logitech optical in usb. ah the best of both worlds

opticals are very sensitive
wheels build up that gunk.

lol, I had enough junk in my ball mouse that an cockroach can get lost in. :D

This thing is so much better, I don't have to hit it like a pinyata like the ball mouse to get the pointer to move.

Not really, my ball mouse had an mouse pad and it still got dirty.

My mouse pad has more gunk than the table. My mouse would be cleaner if I used the table itself :(

i use my table w/ a mouse. it gets even nastier, especially when i eat & use the comp. ugh:confused2

it didn't get that icky for me it just built up over time...now with teh optical mouse I can glide everywhere and you don't even need the mousepad, also improves on my gaming for halflife and halflife mods

I find that sometimes when playing games, all of a sudden it shoots up and I am looking at the sky or my feet. Don't know what causes it, but it is annoying.

I have one. Paid ~$50. It turned out it didn't fit my old puter even if they said it would in the store. I didn't find the receipt so I could get my money back. :cry2:

I've been debating whether or not to buy a Microsoft or Logitech Optical Mouse. They are both $30 (I'm buying the cheapest version here). Microsoft mouses have a 6000 images per second rating, which is pretty darn good. Logitech mouses have a 2000 images/sec rating but a 800cpi resolution. Some people also say that the Logitech mouses are smoother. Has anyone experienced both mice and have any comments to make?

Damn, I just went to the store and I found that the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical doesn't say anything about 6000 reports per second on the box. :mad:

The "so I" should be "that", or you could say "that would allow me to" instead of "so I could", but I think it's still pretty clear what Meow means.

I just got the 1500 reports/sec MS Optical mouse and it seems to work fine for me as of now.
