For Linux www.mchost has a good reputatuion. There prices are bit high but support is good.
For Win2000 have look at www.sitebysize.net They have good feature rich plans & Suracha knows what he does

The reason for that is people store warez on there servers and when there account gets deleted they rant and rave.
I recommend the donhost unix reseller package , i have used it its well worth to money and it very reliable and perfect for a person who wants to resell space ..... once you have enough clients though .. and wanna have your own name servers and server.
Go for http://www.rackshack.net , cobalt server - $99 per month + $250 setup with 300 GB data-transfer per month ( really as much as you can eat. )

If you actually READ the webhostingtalk.com forums you will see otherwise. It's not because people store illegal content on their site. Usually if you go over 10gigabytes of transfer they will ask you to upgrade your account to a dedicated server. If you don't they will delete your site no questions asked.
If you have used it why did you leave?

So *then* you went from colocating your own servers to free hosts, and now you are ready for budget hosting (wanting 20 gigs of transfer and preferred 1 gig of space for $20-40, unlimited domains, blah blah blah) and are asking about donhost in the above thread? Ask about, recommend, what's the difference? Something ain't jiving with this cdudeuk18.

Ok let me explain .....
i had hardly any money a few weeks ago .. i upgraded my pc. ... now i have money .. and i don't have anything to spend it on .. i can spend abit of it on hosting ... i used to resell for fasthosts .. had no problems .. just had to cancel account due to the cost of SQL and other features i needed ... then i moved to donhost ... and i was doing well .... moved up to co-location in Telecity , Manchester & Webfusion , Nottingham ... and also had a cobalt server from rackshack ... i then had to close because i had over spent ... and needed to re-structure ... i'm now back in the possition to get a reseller account with a budget from $20 .. to anything up to around $40 .. more if good package.
BTW - due to my age .. i do not handle the billing part of the business ... that is handled by my boss.

Ok, why don't you start off slow. If your finances fluctuate all over, then signing up for an expensive account isn't what I'd suggest. I'd recommend you look into reseller plans that are inexpensive to start, where you can buy additional accounts at a discount. There are hosts that offer $0 reseller accounts. Startup would be $0. Additional accounts are discounted so you'd only have to spend more money once you actually get an order. Getting one big account (or a dedicated server), without having the clients to support it is only good if you are able to float it for a bit if you *don't* happen to get the clients to support it. You need to think long term, not this month.

http://www.ecommercediscovery.com offers plans similar to mchost.com.
Another host that is similar is splashhost.com.
