and guess what .... all are slow ... go with a cgi / php host which has a pop-under .. or some form of ad .... it will save you having to look for another down the line ( less chance ).

I think I'm really going to need sendmail because I want to have a forum. But if it's not possible, one without is ok too.

Think about it .. banner do not make much money ... ppl do not click them .. pop-ups/under do .... banner ruin your design .. unless you can place the banner where you want ... ( even then it would be better without ) .. pop-ups/pop-unders do not.

pop-unders are better ... they are timed per user... ( mostly ) and go under the page. . instead of ontop.
murat

yes you should

Than what do you guys think are the best hosts, 1 for cgi incl ssi and sendmail, 1 for php incl mysql and the mail command?
I'm thinking of prohosting for cgi and multimania for php.

go for prohosting.
Wezz

I need 2 free hosts:
nr 1:
* cgi with sendmail
* ssi
nr 2:
* php with mail() command available
Both:
* ads not important
* own ads allowed
Either one of them should have at least 15 mb space, the other one around 5 mb.
I also need mysql, it can be with the php host. Else I will take an account at www.freesql.org (http://www.freesql.org).
Languages:
* Dutch (native language)
* English (good)
* German (reasonable)
* French (enough to understand a webhost's website)
I think I'm going for free.prohosting.com (http://free.prohosting.com) for the cgi and the space and Multimania (http://www.multimania.fr/webmaster) for the php and mysql.
Has anybody a better idea?

I can't signup at prohosting and they do not have sendmail. Maybe I'll go with T35 (I already have an account there, not in use anymore). What do you think about this?
