it looks like the owl is just flapping the wings and not moving while the stars falls on it.

for some reason, look like the owl does not move while the stars move. I remember seeing some effect with background and bird flying, perhap it is better to use a background with more stars in random sizes or something.
Also, seem like some star are falling at different rate! I thought if you make all the star moving at the same rate, perhap that would appear like the owl moving, not the stars.

Um, the first one is just an owl in the middle of a black screen flapping its wings. The second is just a blank page with a star field as a background, no owl at'll. So, from that, if the question is which one looks better in regard to the owl, I'd have to go for the first... as there actually is an owl in it.

It's coming in from the top left. Are you using Opera?
Anyway, part of the problem may be that the owl is too sharp, too bright and kind of spotlighted from below. Makes it look unreal. You should get a real owl and one of those webcams...:p

One more thing - edit the feet away. It's so obviously standing upright like a penguin. Look at the angle of the feet. ;)

Space2 because the first one doesn't really look like stars.. just some strange dots.
