What are your views about YaBB? I'm thinking of using it for my personal site which will come out in who knows when (lets just say: the future, for now)

To many security holes in the past. I suggest their main competitor http://www.ikonboard.com . It's much nicer and very easy to install.

YABB 2 is supposed to be revolutionary, we'll see about that.

Same with Ikonboard 3.0... at least the idea of using some kind of a database system without the need of mySQL or alike looks great. Not all have mySQL access.
What about YABB or YABB 2? Does it need mySQL? Or how is it arranged?
Too many revolutions, maybe.

For YaBB2 we'll use a flat text db module (just like ikonboard 3 will). But there will come a mysql version out too.

If you do have the luxury of having MySQL then I would suggest phpbb because it ranks up there with the likes of Vbulletin and UBB in features and design. There are about 20+ people active in it's development and if you check the CVS you will find it evolves almost daily. Anyway the address is http://www.phpbb.com if you would like to check it out. Anyway good luck to you on your search.
