erm.. what is XHTML..?dragonash December 29th, 2000, 10:42 erm.. does anyone heard about the "Xhtml" .. what Xhtml can do and how good of that ....? Mrh0ax December 29th, 2000, 13:04 XML is another language that allows you to make your own tags like <message>This would be a test message with a tag i made up</message> <question>I think thi sis how you do XML, is it??</question> so i i think heh Fred December 29th, 2000, 17:13 So it's basically nothing but crap? Mrh0ax December 29th, 2000, 17:52 kinda just ---- like <text></text> <button></button> ---- like the <!-- TEXT --> commands and ---- Epgs December 29th, 2000, 21:53 and you define what <message> should look like. But to answer your question i think xhtml would be x-etensible h-hyper t-text m-markup l-languege but in the htm vs. html thread i don't know if the ending is any different p.s. you guys remember .ihtml from excelland we had the big discussion over? ashben December 30th, 2000, 01:49 Originally posted by Fred So it's basically nothing but crap? XML is not crap or "just ----"! It initially started off as a markup language to be embedded in client-side scripts but later evolved into a mature data exchange and interchange extension. For example if you wanted CNN's latest headlines or SlashDot's latest tech news on your site, you may just pull their XML feed, parse it and put it on your page. Its applicable to serious e-Business applications as well where payment details, procurement information and delivery data is often communicated using XML (or a XML-like structure) over a secure wrapper. So XML is more than just a language. Its just that it would take time to gain acceptance. XHTML is, in fact, the follow-on version of HTML 4. You could think of it as HTML 5, except that it is called XHTML 1.0 So, yes .. XHTML = Next Generation HTML + XML! | ||||
