Looks too not-bright to me. And the category words and the column background are too similiar in color, but otherwise its okay. Get some graphics though, they should help.

and change the menu headers to brighter color.

looks good if you make your tables only 760 pixel you will lose that bottom slie bar. I have noticed that 85% of my traffic views in 800 bys 600. So I started to reduce my tables to 76 when I build a new site.... All in All nice job and I like the expanding links.

It looks decent. What I would do is either make your main logo match the rest of your site, or the rest of your site to match the logo. Lime and red don't quite mix.

Once it has more content, itll be great. :)
