Why do you need a YaBB anyway? They aren't that great.

Yeah, I agree. I dislike YaBB because it's default setup doesn't look too good. I would choose Ikonboard or Ultraboard instead. You can get Ultraboards hosted for free at http://www.homepagetools.com . I don't recommend UBB either. It's expensive and the layout's average. VBulletin was created to rip people off (I can't believe it's $89 a year!).

Because YaBB is the best, free, remotely hosted board I have yet to find.

Why don't others start offering free remotely hosted Burning Board, OpenBB or Ikonboard.

you must look at its feauture first :) and since you dont have it,
u dont know it ... vbulletin is far more better than others ... and
their developer spend alot of time for that (bet they were pro
developer - not newbies like me who would like give up half way).

anway ... i dont like YaBB either ... its bad for me ... but still some
'big' site use it .. maybe because it free and they dont want to
buy vbulletin while ikonboard still on beta and phpbb blahblahblah
(to many reason ;))

I agree. vBulletin is the best of the best and no other board beats it. And the price doesn't seem to be a problem for many, many people as a lot of people have purchased the script, I'm sure it's worth the money.

Actually phpBB is almost as good as vBulletin and its free. UBB sucks for large-scale sites and cost too much.

Personally in free forums, I prefer ezboards

Worth the money? I don't think anything could be worth that much, especially since it's only an Internet script. You could customize an Ikonboard to the same degree as a vBulletin. Or perhaps even get an Aimoo board (which is HOSTED for you and has most of the features of vBulletin and some new ones). For Ikonboards, over 3 years, you would save $255. For Aimoo boards, over 3 years, you would save $75.

I might be confused...Could someone explain why vBulletin is so valuable, even after my statement?

They have YaBB and some others.

Are they hosting vBulletin boards legally?

The Red Guy

This doesn't appear to be legal. I wouldn't want a BB there for fear that vBulletin might just take action against it. :D

What would you like your URL to look like?
(please be 18 if other than first choice desired)

That is REALLY bad grammar. I mean, how is someone under 13 supposed to suddenly BE 18, as that is what their sentence was implying. Also, they're discluding people OVER 18. So you have to be exactly 18 to use their services? LOL! :D

But I think I am going to use a different one since the problems make my board... well... extremely irritating

I would pay what they charge for vbulletin if it was hosted for me.

I would say the same thing if mine wasnt bugs gallore.

And... it would also LOOK the best aside from the fact I cnat change the page background colour from lavander to summin' else.

I found 'Background Colour' but that was only the box around the board itself... well its hard to explain.
