I'm planning on making a website on a free server but I was wondering if I get a account, will a banner/text link/button/etc. appear on ever frame. Or will the banner/text link/button/etc. only appear on the main one. My site is going to have three frames are if something like a banner/text link/button/etc. appears on everyone it will ruin the whole design..thanks..

depends on your host, contact them or look in their faq or support forum

just find an ad free host, what do you need??

Ad free hosts won't last. The only way to solve your problem is to go to a host who places pop-up ads on your site instead of inline banner ads. That way, your frames won't be messed up.

Maybe you should design your site without frames. It will give you much more flexability in choosing a free host and displaying their banners.

I tried sites with pop-ups but they get really annoying..and I don't want to redesign my entire website. It took me a long time to make with frames and now I don't want to just take out the frames..

Mrh0ax, check your mail. Also, does anyone know any other accounts? And, do you think that having pop ups will draw people away from my site? I currently am making the site at Hypermart and they can get annoying..let me know..thanks..

Whoops, I forgot to mention, you could go with:
http://home.nbci.com/ - "unlimited" webspace, ad frame (which will only be shown ONCE for the whole page, not in every frame like some of the rumors say; those people who invented that rumor don't know how to properly write HTML; you really can't blame Nbci for your own problems)
http://www.webjump.com/ - 25 mb webspace, ad frame
http://www.fortunecity.com/ - 100 mb webspace, banner in main frame (FC has a smart banner placement system which won't place a banner in a frame occupying less than half of the screen.)
http://home.crosswinds.net/ - "unlimited" webspace, pop-up ad usually (but in your case it won't show since you use frames, and CW will not kick you out for it since they know it's their fault)

Thanks everyone..the only problem with all of these is that I was hoping for a subdomain. (e.g. http://--whatever--.host.com) If there is one then thanks..other then that I think I'll use Crosswinds..thanks!

You can get a subdomain by using a redirection service. Eg. http://www----------

http://www.uni.cc
http://www.wzr.net
http://www.eg.st
are also good... :)

Okay..I've narrowed it down to:
http://www.spaceports.com
http://www.uni.cc
http://www.eg.st
http://www.sphosting.com (it was on another post)
This one isn't working:
http://www.wzr.net

This is a host, not a redirect url; however, spaceports is a very generous host. 40GBs bandwidth, 20MBs upgradable, CHI/PHP/mySQL/SSI (on a slow cgi-bin server though :(). For redirect, I suggest http://www---------- because they're reliable and have great features:
-mail aliasing: email@domain---------- (can setup each to direct to different email addresses)
-pop3 email opt.
-everyone.net option to add plugin email for visitors
-you can set it up like a real domain to an ip if you wish
-web based email
-subdomain.domain---------- forwarding
-etc. etc. etc.

Actually Nick I'm looking for a host. I signed up to sphosting.com..I haven't started yet but is it a good choice?
Oh yea..and do they allow ads to be placed for revenue?

Mr. Dogg looks like another one of those hypocrites who wants an FWP nice enough not to place ads on their member pages just so that he can turn around and put his own paid ads on his site. Just use Spaceports or a pay host if you're one of those; I know I'd use a pay host if I were to place my own paid ads on my site. :-)

Hypocrite? No way..I was just asking about the revenue thing because its a nice bonus..not a necessity. Anyhow, I have signed up for sphosting.com..
