I'm starting a free web hosting and I' trying to find a feasible way to make advetising revenue. I was thinking of doing what GA-Sports has done to http://www.frontofficefootball.com with the bar accross the top. However, instead of links to sites, I'd put a text advertisiment. Could this work. I'd be an SSI code, so i could update it frequently and members wouldn't have to display a banner. What do you think?

I couldn't get to the website in you post. Can you double check to see if it's correct. Thanks.

Might work, it would certinaly be interesting and catch the eye of many viewers!

Good Luck!

I'd say that AllClicks would fit nicely for any unsold space. :)

Exactly my thought.

If you were joining a free host, would this be suitable replacement for a banner?

(ignore the popup, it's something different)

Yes I think so, maybe along with one on the base of the site? maybe a "Hosted by -------" bottom right. And the ad ones up the top. It may even give more of a community feel!

You could even chuck a search box down the bottom!

So it's like this;

______________________________________

| Search |======| Hosted by ------ |
|______________________________________|

Just an idea ;)
