Yes it is, and they get away with it. That's business. Look at Microsoft's MS Office vs. StarOffice! Oh no, that's a monopoly! ;)

just registered at register.com ($35 per year, but that's not too much)
i registered there cause the other pages wouldnt load and i couldnt wait (sort of an urgent situation)

I tried to register with gkg.com but for the DNS domain i wantend to use the dns of mydomain.Com. But the that wasn't a good DNS-adres. What can i do about that?

Many poeple use mydomain so it might have been something you did? You tried:
ns1.mydomain.com 208.184.130.51
ns2.mydomain.com 208.184.130.52
ns3.mydomain.com 208.184.130.53
ns4.mydomain.com 208.184.130.55

http://www.powerpipe.com offers domain names for $8.88 a year. I've used them once, and they seemed to work great. Recommended!
