Ok im pretty much new to everything since I started actually goin online like one or two years ago and still exploring everything and learning about some PC hardware, but anyways onto the question, im getting a new cd player for christmas (info) (http://www.cnet.com/electronics/0-6342420-1317-6913666.html?tag=st.ce.6342420-1307-6913666.rev.6342420-1317-6913666) and I have a cd-rw drive and I wanna burn some cd's and compile cd's, I have some cd's, (cd-r 700mb 80mins) (cd-rw 650mb 74mins) my brother had some mp3's and encoded them into wav files which I believe has better quality and about 50-60 megs each, he fit about 20 songs onto a cd-rw with the 650mb and 74mins, when you compile a cd say with mp3's does it matter if you go over 650mb or go over 74mins?

It's not possible to go past 650 mb on a 650mb cd.

It may be possible to get it a few seconds over... eg. I just made a CD with 74m 37secs.

so if I compile a cd do I have to make sure its at the size and time limit or less of the cd-r limits? and are wma files same quality as mp3's but half the size? is that true, how or can I convert mp3 to wma files? :D im just full of questions

If you want to make Audio CD's the original file's size doesn't matter. And no, no matter what Microsloth says, Windows Media isn't CD Quality at 64kbps. Windows Media may be slightly better than MP3 in compression, but what Microsoft claims is bs.

Oh yes... My 320kbps 44.1KHz MP3s are pretty darn near CD-Quality :)
