Anybody know of free services that allow you to track the amount of time your website (the server) is down?

I have used qwkmon and internetseer. But the best one, IMHO, is http://uptime.openacs.org/uptime/
:)

Where is that in CNET, cheatpark?.. You know CNET is kinda pretty big web site. I really want to test the speed of the host before I pay for it.

A while back there was a link on the frontpage. Now I can't find it. I'll have another look and if I find it I will edit this post and put in the link.

http://uptime.netcraft.com/ can graph the uptime if any website, if you (or someone else) enters the host name into "What's that site running?" periodically. Netcraft also tells you what OS, web server, and IP address where used by the site in the past.
For example, here's slashdot: http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?mode_u=on&mode_w=on&site=slashdot.org
