Sorry guy, This might be a bit off topic.
I have done a sneak look on many members's web site in this community... Really wonder, where do you guy actually host your web page? Around here, I saw many recommendation to many sites.. (well not actually :p too many sites but too many posts to the same site) you all use them for storage purpose?..
If you site have database, it is unlikely to be hosted on the free one?.. while many people recommend web sites for as low as 10$-15$ per years. but mostly, (with the WHOIS service) I see you are hosting with the one that cost you 15$-25$ a month... so that means you don't trust the cheap one?.. or you guys are so rich.. and have many web space around this cyber space?..
not to be offense.. Since, I gonna be the late user from F2S... I am seriously looking for the good reliable web host with MySQL and no-ads at small fee or no cost at all (Which I realize no such exist...if there is ..they will be like F2S at last)...
And from what I see, most of active members here seem to be very professional in this area.. you should host your site only at the place you trust. WHERE IS IT?
One more question.. could you enligthen me about the bandwidth limit?.. I know what is gigabyte what is megabyte.. but what does it really?.. The good example should be this place.. how much bandwidth here is using per month?.. compare with yahoo.com or nasa.org or...etc...I really want to know.. how much for the web site with some graphic galleries (say 20MB+) and very active forum like here?
Thank you so much  :p ;)

First off, it's transfer, not bandwidth. You're not buying a dedicated connection. Secondly, transfer is dependant on how big your pages are, how much of it can be accessed, how much of it is accessed, and how often during the month. Thirdly, there are three things you should look for: speed & reliability, cost, then features.
Speed & Reliability: Obviously you shouldn't be paying to get hosted on a server with a cable connection from RoadRunner. If you have a server that's hosted on a fiber network but has horrible uptime, what's the point? No one will see your site.
Cost: Sometimes hosts go overboard with prices, be wary. You may be able to find a better deal.
Features: Don't look for everything, just what you need and may need.
My top pick is aletiahosting: OC-12, no downtime since I first ordered. $7.95 a month (yearly plan), 250 MB(was a special), and 10 GB transfer.

Ashamed on me [who studied in com sci. field].. using a wrong word .. bandwidth and transfer rate... however.. I really would like to know.. how much transfer rate this forum is likely to use per month?

I know that.. that's what I am so interested.. so you mean those with 10$ per year.. is not realiable? ..so they are lying to us that 99.5% up time is not real?

I don't want much.. just 50MB should be enough for quite some time.... and of course ... MySQL and PHP that can work with webboard program. those ASP, Perl, SSI, FrontPage Extension and such do not come to my intention.. but mostly.. many of the web hosts that provide PHP and MySQL will provide such too

Well, this forum has a hell of a lot of users, so that's why it's on dedicating hosting (or seems to be). I'd say about 350 GB transfer, but that's because of the sheer size.

It's a control panel for users on Red Hat servers that have it and WHM installed. For more information, snoop around webhostingtalk.com.

Maybe you could ask digitalrice when they are accepting sign ups again? They are the best free host I know of without ads. They also seem very stable and will last long.
