Yup. Sad. Well... like I said in my other post, they seem to allow custom cgi scripts that they've looked over. Who knows.

Are they closing up everything, or just not allowing cgi?

They don't allow CGI. They also disabled a lot of features, like Telnet or sumthin'. But they aren't closing. Yet.

Disabling telnet and cgi is quite understandable.

We don't even like gicing telnet to paying users nevermind free users. You want the advanced features get ready to pay.

What's the matter, Technics? Chicken!?

With the latest technology, there is a new form of Telnet that is actually somewhat safe to offer users. It's known as SSH2 and the latest version is quite secure. We won't be offering it but it got our attention, anyway. It's 95% more secure than regular Telnet, so I think this will grab the attention of a lot of paid hosts out there.

That Jess administrator guy... he's resigned. Quit. He's gone from TWU. Wonder what will happen to TWU next?

Well, it finally happened. TWU is now dead. I am horribly disapointed because I really liked them, until they banned CGI scripts. Who knows of any similar website hosts. I need: Free of cost, no ads (besides small buttons), reasonable webspace, decent speed, FTP access, and CGI access. I know that's a lot, but TWU had it, and there must be another.

It's secure in that everything is encrypted in transmission, but just as much a security risk to hosts... Someone logged in via ssh can do everything he can do in telnet...

They probably moved back onto their @Home cable connection; that's what they started out on back when they spammed freewebspace.

AtOmichosting looks okay, but it just has too many problems. One of them I believe that they won't be around for too long, and the second is speed. Any others?

so, exactly how long has Atomichosting being in existance for? This morning I uploaded some of my pages onto their server and the speed seemed alright.

Do you think this host will last? Or is it another "scam" like Novaservers?

If I was brave enough to host with AtomicHosting (which I'm not), I'd at least get a -------- redirection address in case AtomicHosting goes belly up. That way, I wouldn't be left in the dark with an obsolete URL.
