Well, the forums and sites about gaming always have many visitors. Those about webmastering I think are going straight down. People just ask a question, get the answer, and they never come back. So I think that a forum about web mastering, not too technical, with other stuff like gaming, music, ... could be a good idea. Although someone could get a bit confused... Don't know really. It's too hard to find a good idea.

Why they shouldn't? Forums are fun and help for everyone.

Mika, what makes you say this? Some of the top forums are growing at a steady pace.

Sure there might be 2% that get an answer and don't come back, but from what I have seen they still remain very popular.

More like 90% get an answer and never return, I think. Anyhow the field is overcrowded.

Generally, if you aren't even sure what your forums are going to be about then you aren't going to be able to keep them active long-term. It implies you don't have that kind of focus or commitment for the site. Estimated life span: 1 month.

I think you need a site with more than a few visitors, and at least some sort of focus, before you even think about starting forums!

Well .... does forum or forums sound better ???

and the forum will be my first project of many.

The forum will have :

Games Discussion
Internet Discussion
General Discussion

Life Span : 1 Year , cos thats how long the domain will be registered and the hosting account paid for.

I meant to add .. instead of my starting up another forum ... i'm prepaired to fund Coon instead.

We'll be using WBB , Unless the forum gets big .. and made enough from advertsing for me to pay for Vbulletin.
