I hope my math skills are off here.

extra data transfer: .02 * 1024 = 20.48 = $30 per GIG???

That would definately turn my head right there.

I'm sorry to say this, but those prices are ridiculous.

Yup sorry to say , your maths skills are abit wrong.

the price is £0.02 GBP per MB

We do not measure data-transfer in GB , we measure in MB as its more accurate.

So £20 = 1000 MB , this is because the data-transfer is bought from a UK based hosted , paying UK bandwidth fees ... £0.02 GBP per 1 MB is pretty good for a UK host .

Some charge up to £0.05 GBP per MB.

I will be aiming for the UK market mainly. as i'm not in a position to offer such cheap amounts of additional data-transfer at such low prices at this current time.

So how do you figure I'm wrong? There is 1024 megs in 1 gig. That would be 20.48 or roughly $30 per gig.

If UK hosts are that expensive, then I'll be sure to never use one.

yes ,

Current UK bandwidth situation ,

8 out of 10 uk hosts only have a 4Mbit or below internet connection(s).

Average data-transfer price ( £0.02 GBP per MB )

Respected hosts like

yoursitehere.co.uk > charge £0.04 GBP per MB
webfusion.co.uk > charge £0.02 GBP to dedicated server / co-location clients or £0.05 GBP to resellers.
cwcs.co.uk > charge £0.04 GBP per MB

Disclaimer : All these prices were taken from there respected web sites at the time of post.

OK

Here are some answers to some questions you may ask .

Question .
OK i use 8 MB of data-transfer over my limit ... what happends ..

Answer .
we do not charge you until you have used more then 250 MB data-transfer over you limit ( £5 GBP ).

Question
OK i use 7MB over my webspace limit

Answer
This is not possible as the webspace limits are hard limits ( then cannot be exceeded ) - should u require more webspace - we offer webspace in 10 MB blocks @ £10 GBP

IF you have anymore questions feel free to post them here and i will answer them in this forum.
