Ok, so i need my IB hosted somehwere. i don't care about ads or anthing like that, asl ong as it has the requirements to run an IB, I'm happy. Please don't tell me to use a different board like a Burning Board or something like that, cause I'm staying with Ikonboard. Secondly, I can't use Prohosting as much as I love it. I need the sendmail. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

They say so, but I haven't get this part iB working a single time like in other similar softwares, looks to be some mystic mysql installation systems in use, and you have to get some damn modeules downloaded from somewhere?Looks builded different from normal?

The sad thing is that iB is not PHP software, it's a pure cgi software with some flat file system, it eat very much space and bandwith :(
If you want a good software you should use YaBB SE, there is still some small bugs but speed is of another class than iB, as space and bandwith need.

You're making a grave mistake choosing Ikonboard.

What's so bad about Ikonboard?

It's big, eat space and you must have over 10 mb host, it uses much bandwith, so there is in fact nothing really good in it, beside it's free :D
I suggest change to YaBB SE, Burning Board or some php software :p
Did you knew iB is banned on some hosts, they doesn't allow installation of iB because (i believe) of it's flat file system :p

PHP is just as 'pure cgi' as PERL, which IB is written in. Incidently, YaBB is ALSO written in perl, last time I checked. Also the new IB is much less of a resoucre hog that Yabb too. Get your stuff straight.

I have mentioned, I'm not programmer so I leave what is what, but I know PHP + MySQL works much faster, need less space and work better.
PHP is not CGI...it's PHP, do we spoke about same software...I spoke about YaBB SE 1.0.0 a new version of YaBB in PHP :D

Ugg.... I hate it when I have to break it down for people...
CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface, it's what lets servers run programs to make web pages dynamic. CGI can be programmed in many languages, including PERL, PHP, Python, C++, also there are Microsoft/Sun CGI's like ASP, CFM, and Java Servlets/JSP.
CGI does not mean PERL.
There are better php/mySQL bulletin boards than YaBB, if they have a php, which I never knew about.
Perl and mySQL can be just as fast if not faster. IB uses these. It all boils down to how well it's coded.

He he...you could tell me hebrew, and I understand just as much as about programming languages, but thanks anyway :)
Yes they have one YaBB SE, released in december 2001, and it's extreamly fast PHP forum software, not made by xnull, it's another group braked out of xnull which made it in few months.
If you want look at YaBB SE, go here:
