If it gets fast I think http://www.skaggy.com is going to be the best.

Are you the owner of skaggy.com out for some self-promotion? Fancy claiming it as "best" when they haven't even started offering anything. For all you know, its probably a scam.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! See my thread scrolling down the head forum page. I'm asking "Anyone got the address to Skaggy.com". I've no connection to Skaggy, none. From what I've seen I think it'll be the greatest host I've ever used.

I'm saying it once again: I've No Connection To Skaggy!
I've no connection to another host neither!

Funny, you are all rambling and contradicting yourself and generally making little sense. Do you meant you wanted the url to skaggy.com? Well you got that right, its just that. What do you meant that "they are the greatest host you ever used"? From what I know they haven't even started offering any services. They just have an attractive little portfolio which is probably just another attention grabbing gimmick. And for a host that can't meet deadlines, I am pretty dubious that they will lived up to any expectations. I am almost pretty sure that the release date is going to get pushed back. Either that or you will find a 404 page not found or a dns lookup error soon

Yes yes, that is if they ever get started. Funny seeing how you keep recommending skaggy.com when they aren't even accepting sign-ups. And your statement is rather misleading. You claimed that they will be the best host if they get faster, didn't you. I am puzzled. How much faster do you want a site with only one index.html and absolutely no graphics but just plain text with attractive features so all the n00bs drool over them?

well with Skaggy.com exposed it time for me to reveal the ultimate personal site, and free, host out there, its ME! hahahhha well thats just because I'm hosting myself, but seriously, I belive self-hosting is much better than some remote host because every damn host I find out there has something wrong with them, me I have a fast connection, 600kbs(about 75kbps average d/l) and no bandwidth limit, I have a good FTP server to manage my d/l's from and I have php, CGI, and MySQL with about 5 gigs of space to play with, now u tell me, is Tripod better than that? No, but for those of us less fortunate to be able to host themselves I really do hope that someone will open a ligitimate host. :D

Refering to the original question, I think that you can't really tell which host is the "best" because different people need different options. For example, a person with a small personal site might think a host that offers no ads, file manager, and 5mbs is the 'best', while a person with a database driven website might think a host with mySQL/PHP, ftp, and a top banner is the 'best'.

A more suitable question would probably be "What is the best host that offers ______, _____, and ____", but that would still get a mixed set of answers because different people have different experiences :p.

wow. That seems a good host. They might not be around for long though.
