What do I need to convert Quicktime Movies (.qt or .mov) files to MPEG (.mpg or .mpeg) files?
Anyone knows?

Quicktime Pro will convert them (all the latest quicktime files) to AVI.

Then you can covert the AVI -> MPEG with one of the many free converters.
