The problem with NameZero/DomainDoggy is that you do not have full ownership of your domain names. If you build a popular site, they could conceivable hold it hostage and force you to use their own overpriced services, keep their advertising on your site, or make you buy it from them at an inflated cost. With domains costing less than $10 a year, it is simply not worth the hassle.

Adding to that...
You don't own it period. It isn't yours, you have no ownership what-so-ever.
If they want to sell it to you, they will, if not, they won't.
If you build a site worth $10,000, $5,000 or even $500 why *would* they sell it to you for $10 or $20? I sure wouldn't be that stupid, I'm sure they aren't.

Dear Rev,
I discovered doggydomain.com about a year ago. I registered a domain name and verified it some time after. The only problem is I never got my domain! I'm sure I did all the steps correctly. I even contacted them asking why I didn't get my domain and they never answered! Also, I gave them one more try durring November, 2001 and same problem.
So Let us know if domaindoggy.com works for you, but through my experience they don't seem active :nervous:
I've been searching for free domain names like forever! I must admit I am very happy with my free .TK domain name :biggrin2:
Good Luck,

Yah, you found the catch.
"Free domain registration, Free domain, and Free hosting" sounds great, too bad there's a catch. There's a catch to all these free domains, eather "Free domain, when you pay for hosting," or "free hosting, all you pay is the NIC fee.
Oh well
