Can you get Namezero to set CNAME's and MX Records for your site as well as the hostnames, as I want to do this but am not sure if NameZero allow it, I am a paying customer?

I do not think so for the free service
but if you pay for the service they would accept to change the MX records

Well... then email them and ask... they're the ones with the answer to your question.
I know they do let you change nameservers... so its not too much of a leap to get an mx server change I'd think.

Register at zoneedit.com where you can change your DNS records.
Send a request to Namezero to change your nameservers to that provided by zoneedit . Once your nameservers are changed to that of zoneedit's you can login to zoneedit and change your MX records or CNAME or A or SOA. No problem. And after that you don't have to contact that damned Namezero support for DNS changes.
