I retract any good comments about Liquid2k.com I recently found out that they OWN ALL OF YOUR CONTENT that you upload. So do not use them.

Remember, if you put anything up on our site - it becomes ours. That means anything you send in, or post in the chat room, or in anyway disclose to us, we can reproduce, disclose, transmit, publish, broadcast, and/or post somewhere else. On top of that, any ideas, or concepts, techniques, that you disclose on this site, we can use any way we want, including in the developing, manufacturing and marketing of our products, or just to make fun of it. In plain language, if you want to keep it to yourself, do just that.

On the same note, there are plenty of trademarks, logos and service marks on this site, that belong to us or someone who said it's cool for us to use it. So hands off! (That's from our legal guys.)

(Must be some lame lawyers)

if some loser sneaks in and posts some rubbish

they sounds like losers themselves

they dont sound too good, i will TOTALY take them off a good site list.. lol

good services, bad people

Why don't sphosting.com use communityweaver instead rather than homefree?
unless they put all these hacks and modify homefree
communityweaver allows the user to have ftp access.

From what I understand they don't because they'd loose ad revenue on the file manager.

Sphosting.com

Your correct, we need the ad revenue from the file manager, if we didn't get that revenue we would be broke and go out of business. Since there is no ads on the members pages.

Although ad revenue has been dropping over the last 4 months due to a drop in online advertising market. Means lower advertising rates and income for everyone.

We are going to be putting in a new upload applet soon, which allows upload of whole directories, Also there will be a few changes in the next week, the arival of a new website and our additional services. The new upload system will be more like ftp access but with your browser.

Also homefree will have a new version soon, which will make it much better than anything else on the market.

So will this upload applet be online in a week? I'd like to know because I'm trying to decide on you, or F2S.

sphosting or http://www.f2s.com ?? well depends on what you need, if it is a small site sphosting but if you want to really do something with your site, f2s

Canuckkev

Yeah. F2S is soooo much better. Don't know what I was thinking...

applets in alpha testing with no release date avaiable as there are allot of bugs in it. You can use f2s if you like. Although rumours have been spreading about changes at f2s, maby there ture maby not.

What changes?.

also when you going todo your beta testing for domain hosting?. You acceptted me as a beta tester and said youd contact me in a month or two that was in august i think.

I don't think it's very "healthy" for an ad-free FWP to host domains. It's cheaper to host every member under the same domain than to host a different domain for each member.

I don't like f2s.com..their file manager is horrible.

Canuckkev
January 11th, 2001, 17:27
That's why you use FTP! All Browser file managers (that I've seen) are pretty hard to use. But maybe sphosting.com's new one will be good...

Since when did F2S have a file manager

It's easy to host domain names when you get the right systems in place. Its eaiser to point a domain name to someones directory then it is to make a subdomain do it.

Also we dumped the system which we wanted beta testers for and went for a better system that we are tesing internally.

I suppose GeoCities' got one of the best file managers.

RedRival's file manager has a great feature, the Unzip function. It's the only thing I use it for besides FTP.

NetCabins is working on a file manager too. We are going to try and have the best one out there; we are working on member control panels that will be integrated with it.

Will your file manager have a "progress indicator" of your file uploads? That seems to be something every other online file manager lacks.

That's the only reason why I use FTP. So I can see how long I have to go and also upload mutli-files. Otherwise I would use a Broswer based uploader. :D

I think they're talking about the members' area. If they think that that's a file manager, it must suck because you can't do anything :p.

I meant they're design. When I log in it seems so unprofessional. You can only upload too..

I am Adam, owner of liquid2k.com, everyone tripped out over some garbage in our privacy policy. Well quickly- when we first started it was just myself and john. We picked up 2 advertisers and everyone wanted a damn privacy policy so we copied- like 10 dif ones. at the time I didnt knwo any better so I went with that, when I finaly spoke with someone this year about it I removed it from the policy and had it re-written and edited. Never have any of teh sites we own ever copied, ripped off or steal anyone else's material. 1- we set the trends, 2- we employee more kids then anyone I know. We even fund several diffrent teenage owned companies. I challenge anyone to let me know that myself or my team has ever taken someone else's ides, material, design of anything of that nature.

does this mean if you put warez, cracks, mp3s on it they get done?
