scanner doesn't work

hi as some of you know i just got a new computer and i also bought a scanner at the same time. the computer folks installed it, said they had some troubles but it worked, i get it home hook it up and it doesn't work. it says the software is installed but that the scanner wasn't recognized or something like that. iam running windows 2000. does anyone have any idea on what i should do? should i try to uninstall and reinstall the software?? anyone??

Good chance that Windows 2000 doesnt support the software for your scanner.

You could try searching for Windows 2000 drivers for your scanner.

i should have mentioned that it supports windows 2000 and that is an Epson 1250 perfection scanner

well shyte i was installing some other programs that required me to restart the computer and now the damn thing works. very strange. oh well thanks for the help anyways.
