Hi,
I am going to start up a site with a huge cheat database for games. And we were hoping to make possible a bit of revenue to cover costs and possibly a little bit of income on the site.

What im realy looking for is a network with a CPM advertiser so if you guys could help me with that it would be great :)

Thanks,
Chris

P.S. I would be going with dkAds but im not to sure if they have a CPM advertiser in the catergory my site sits in

Here are a few you can try :)

FastClick
PopupSponsor
PopupTraffic
GoClick
ExitFuel
Adtegrity
BurstMedia
DoubleClick
FocusIN

Take a look at the TOS of each to see if your site will qualify.

I have been using ExitFuel on www.originalicons.com for more than half a year now and they pay well and on time. They pay $5 cpm for popups even though you will find with any popup sponsor you will only get credit for about 35% of your visits because they have to completely load.

Not bad,
how annoying are the exit ads though? Have you had any compaints from any of your users about them or anything?

Doesn't exitfuel spawn loads of other popups for the $5 rate?

Thats what I thought, I wonder what Wabby thinks

Okay.. heres my thoughts.

If it weren't for my pop-ups I'd have no way of affording my site hosting fees. Of the 20,000 - 30,000 visitors I get each day I must say I rarely get a complaint. However, I do know that it annoys people and I am almost certain there will be a number of people that will refuse to visit my site in the future because of these.

Now, I think the key to using this service successfully without it damaging my traffic levels to the point that it decreases each month is the fact that I have unique content. A friend of mine tried to use ExitFuel on a WWF content site and it did hurt his traffic levels. But this is mainly due to the fact that there are thousands upon thousands of WWF fan sites. If someone doesn't like what they see on one site they just find another.

Overview: I think that if you have a typical web-ring-type site that bares much competition it may be too much of a sacrifice for you to try and earn revenue from the popup ads. Also you will not want to use them on a site like say.. a religious website, because some of the ads may show some slightly offensive images. They are not pornographic, but its the kind of stuff you might see on commercials at 2 in the morning on tv like "Mardi Gras, Uncensored" where they cover up the unmentionables :o . But if your content is valued by your visitors and they aren't left with much of a choice as to where to get your content pop-ups can deliver a wonderful source of income!

Yes, they do... While they pay, I don't think it's worth it...

Even when I visit a site that uses them, I usualy won't go back simply because it is a big pain in the neck to close all those windows!

i agree wtih ratestar, there are so many cheat databses on the internet, your going to loose visitors, and not gain them with pop ups on every page. I'd recommend a mixture of CPC and CPM, with the occasional pop up in there, in other words, run a ad managament program, such as phpadsnews :-)
