Other ways on increasing hits.

I currently have two websites which are getting a combined 3000 views a month. I want to increase the hits, but I don't want to join a banner exchange, buy advertising, etc. They are just two little fan sites for my favorite bands that I want to increase the traffic. I know that the sites appear pretty high on Google and a few other search engines, but thats it!!. They both have a great amount of content. Is there another way?

the easiest way to increase hits is to get a 2nd level domain.

when i was located at weezer.dhs.org, i got about 200 hits a day... after moving to weezer.org, the hits went up to nearly 900 and kept growing every day. not a bad jump.

try submitting the site to about every search engine you can get your hands on, and visit popular message board with similar topics to your site, leaving your link at thebottom of your posts, or in your signature line.

I have submited my site to about 3000 seach engines using a program called SubmitWolf, which is why my sites are so high in Google. I'm a regular at the official message boards. But I'll think about getting a domain.

Join a webring, or a linklist pertinent to your site's content.

I get about unique 1000 views a day, nealy a hundred of those from the webring.

I agree, i think banner exchanges are shi¤tty.
