You should try YaBB se, its a php+mySQL based but have some small bugs, but still, this is a great forum !

They're not hacks. I edited it myself.

Its a close one. Phpbb vs. wbb. Wbb has the extra features but then phpbb has the speed. I personally would go for more features and if you have a fast server wbb goes pretty fast anyway. If your site is on a slow server then go for phpbb.

Man, just use snitz forum. Snitz runs on SQL, MySQL, or access. Snitz is the best message biard ever made. espacially if u run it on MS SQL!

I recommend going with Ikonboard 3.0 personally. I haven't looked into many PHP forums and they all look fast. Ikonboard features a DBM powered forums for small and moderate sites, and is also easy to set up. It also has a MySQL option for big, advanced users which runs fast. It's widely used on the web and I suggest it over YaBB. The only thing YaBB has over it, is that YaBB is even easier to set up and it has that nifty fading news script.

agree! i actually on deciding to buy vB license or not .. it quite expensive .. but i got what i pay for :) USD $85 for a year .. when convert to my country it will cost me RM 323 .. with this money i can buy a PSONE (although PS2 is more popular but i still prefer PSONE - because it cute .. hehe)

i think ikonboard is the best choice ... at least for now.
