What are bes reseller plans or dedicated servers that can be used as reseller plans that offer like 99.9% uptime, good speed, good bandwidth, good space, and pretty much good everything. I planned on going with hostnexus.com but i am not 100% sure yet. I will have to look at mostly all reseller hosts and find out which one is the best for me! Thanks

What is your monthly budget? That's the first question you should ask yourself and answer when starting up a reseller account.

Like I said in last post my monthly budget that I can spend on hosting is somwhere near 60 Us dollars! Of course little above and below that is acceptable too!

In that case, you may want to start small. It's good to start small, for if you fail, you won't be losing much, like I said last time.

http://www.ecommercediscovery.com/hosting/reseller.html is recommended. The webspace given may not seem like much, but if you're not getting customers, it's going to just sit there. After you've gotten enough customers, move on to the next plan. Once you exhaust that and see that you have enough money as to purchase a dedicated server, do that, and move all the clients to it.

You may also want to try another kind of reselling, and that's the traditional kind where you get an account at a host, your own nameservers, and you resell at lower prices, the accounts that they set.

http://www.interserver.net/ [note, as soon as you do get enough customers to purchase a dedicated server, they will give you that option and then you have full control over the plans]

dedicated server? Isn't rackshack's dedicated server better?

niv
January 24th, 2002, 19:47
Whoops. Haha.

Actually, by the time you switch to the dedicated server, you will have already paid for it with the money you get from customers.

hmm, cyberwings has alot of reseller plans, but I am not sure if they are good? Anyways on the main page of rackshacks special servers they got that 300 gb/bandwidth and 20gb space for 99/month? Is that true?

niv
January 24th, 2002, 19:54
Yes, that offer is valid. They don't anticipate you using up 300 GB of transfer monthly, and that's why they are offering that; it is being used as a marketing ploy.

Anybody know anything about cyberwings? Good, bad?

Try mchost.com instead, they're focused only on reseller accounts.

I just cant believe donhost sux. their control panels look better than any hosting companies I have seen yet. The best. I dont know why ya said they offer 20 gig bandwidth instead of 50 like they said, but anyways their control panels are the best.

BTW, mchost seems more like regular host. Their highest reseller package is 100$ for only 32 gig bandiwdth and 2gb space!

Donhost is just a bad company. They also delete accounts because of their crazily strict TOS/AUP. If you were to go with Donhost, chances are some of your client's accounts will be deleted without notice.

When you find that you are in need of a $100 package, you OBVIOUSLY should move to a dedicated server instead, namely rackshack's.

ohh, well. It seems all hosts either are punks or chumps. Either is the price or the quality. There isnt nothing actually in between. I guess I should rent my own oc-3 connection and make my own business. Depending on other hosts i never know when I can get tricked! Ohh well. Thanks for these sites. All reseller plans that I have seen thus far suck!

btw, can ya give me some links to donhost's resellers? Anyways are there any ppl that have their reseller plan?

niv

The three donhost resellers that I have known have either pulled (directoris, yupapa) out gone out of business (9kd).

You're just expecting too much for the money. ;)
BTW, an OC-3 costs at least $40,000 [ a month] to rent and you need to be in an area of servicing, good luck finding that kind of money.

I didnt say rent from my house. I said rent from another company to host it. Similar to dedicated server, but oc-3,oc-12, or ds3 connection! Anyways if I get T1 connection which handles 450 gb.bandwidth monthly would be good for hosting too. Its much better than resellers anyways! BTw last time u said if I had rackshack I would probably mess up the server? Too bad. Lol. I guess having your own hosting company will be best. reselling sux!

Get a DS3, cheaper.

UndercoverHost
January 24th, 2002, 20:29
yea, how much cheaper. Anyways its slower too. I rather get T1 for $700/month. Anyways I will buy it probably later!

BTw anybody know who dingojunction.com and leethosting.com are reselling for?

niv
January 24th, 2002, 20:31
Hmm...residential T1. You'd probably have to be living in a center of business in order for that to happen.

I know oc-3 is 10 t1's! So oc-12 would probably be 40 t1's!

No.....
A T-3 is equal to 28 T-1's. An OC-3 is equal to three T-3's. So an OC-3 is equal to 84 T-1's.

A T-1 is only 1.44mbps. Your average cable connection nowdays from home is anywhere from 500kbps to 1mbps for about $29 per month. Why the heck would you pay such a huge price for a T-1??

I could have two cable connections, two IP's, the proper software, and have a T-1 connection from home for around $60 per month. Remember the poor man's ISDN? ie: Two phone lines and two modems in a computer? Well the same works for cable and external modems as well..

Dont ask how I know... just know that my connection can leave yours eating dust :D

Its any easy mistake to make

their control panels look better than any hosting companies I have seen yet.

Its also alot bugger than most hosting companies

The best. I dont know why ya said they offer 20 gig bandwidth instead of 50 like they said, but anyways their control panels are the best.

Because they undercharge and overoffer .. you use more than 20gb data-transfer a month and your account will either get deleted or you have to move to a dedicated server

BTW, mchost seems more like regular host. Their highest reseller package is 100$ for only 32 gig bandiwdth and 2gb space!

they offer unlimited domains , reseller cp access , nuff said

I mean why not just sue donhost if they give u somethign they didnt promise? Dont anybody have a lawyer? I would sue them even from us for 100,000 bucks and he will not win that 100%.

Anyways huyama-kum what are u saying that all hosts that say unmetered bandwidth and unmetered space lie? Do u believe in anybody? LOL. Its possible to have oc-48 connection with like 100,000 bandwidth/month and why not say unmetered since nobody cant use taht much of bandwidth! Do u know anything about that company? They seem to offer php and asp. Good for me. Anybody heard anything about them? You know, good, bad or whatever. thanks

LoL..you guys are funny=) I am hosted by a donhost reseller and donhost is crazy..I wanted to host a subdomain a friends site..and donhost tracked down that he had 1 image that he took from a site without permission without anyone warning them about it and within the day he uploaded his layout, his account was terminated..I mean they are crazy about their TOS!
