View Full Version : Installing forum (wbb) on new host

I have just moved my forums database to a new host, and it is all uploaded there.

Now I have uploaded all the Burning Board files and want to install it so that it can use the same database and retain all the old posts and members etc.

How do I do this?

I have gone to the installation file, but it gets to step three and says, "There are already tables with the same name, if you continue the installation, it will overwrite them.

However, you can change the board number in _data.inc.php and it will create different tables and leave your present ones intact!"

But I want to make it so it uses the same tables with the same data, without overwriting them!

If any other Burning board users, here, or perhaps anyone that knows much about these things, please tell me how I make it use the database I have installed!

Or should I have installed the database after I added the burning board files? :confused2

use phpmyadmin and backup your database first.
